Ill never tire of watching the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies. They have gone diamond in this house.

Nope. Not enough of the economy is exposed. They'll be fucked.

They wont make money either way. The open source ones will find their niche but they wont make money either. My prediction is 2-3 years and the party is over.

Thousands of posts from a private Young Republican Telegram chat reveal a culture of casual racism/antisemitism, rape jokes and celebration of Hitler/Nazism.

Some of the ringleaders are below: We live in a world where 4chan types now occupy positions of real power.

In the upcoming AI Winter Part 3, the big gen AI models are going to die and businesses will be using smaller application specific ones that can be run locally. Gen AI will fade into the background like machine learning and other types of AI models have over the past few decades.

Social media *prints* money. We arent the customers of social media. We are the product being sold to other businesses.
shimminykricket.bsky.social
That's exactly right lol. Comment sections, blogs, random websites. They are training on publicly avaliable data and running out.
shimminykricket.bsky.social
Only 3% of Gen AI users are paying for it and of those that are paying, 100% are not paying enough for the service so the Gen AI companies can recoup their costs.
shimminykricket.bsky.social
Both lol. The models are probabilistic and there are FAR more ways for a sentence to be wrong than to be correct.

Anthropic just released a paper that shows you can poison any LLM/Gen AI of any size using comparatively small sample (as few as 250 documents or 420k tokens). In other words, the public can destroy any LLM model just by filling the internet with bullshit which Gen AI is already doing 😂😂😂

The crazy part about Gen AI is that its *never* going to be profitable under the physical laws of the universe we occupy using classical computers but rich people dont need profit to make money. Just profit IOUs that may or may not come before they cash out their options.
shimminykricket.bsky.social
The AI companies are also promising to pay each other more money than they actually have so they making deals with money that doesnt exist using their future stock prices...that are being inflated by securities fraud lol.
shimminykricket.bsky.social
Musical chairs. They are playing to see who gets left holding the bag.

Microsoft invests money in OpenAI who then takes that same money to buy compute from Microsoft. Issa circle lol

These AI companies are doing one of the frauds Enron got caught doing

The entire Gen AI industry is about 10 companies passing around investment dollars (on paper) to each other to inflate their stock valuations while loosing money on all of their Gen AI products.

The entire AI industry is engaging in securities fraud (roundtripping) enabled by Trump.

Example:

Nursing -> professional degree Psychology -> academic degree
shimminykricket.bsky.social
There are two broad types of college degrees: Professional and academic. The former is intended to prepare you for a specific career upon graduation. The latter is intended to prepared you for further study and *then* a job. This is distinction is rarely obvious to students.

The biggest problem with college, and social mobility in general, is the amount of class-based unspoken rules that you are unlikely to know the fewer college educated people you grew up with.

At the minimum along with reading and writing well and knowing how to do research.
