i feel that it's hard to judge someone's writing when what you know of the "writing" is a translation, which was made to adapt to the general audience without all the subtleties of the original language. but maybe that's just me

jokes aside i do think it's interesting that some people can't at all get into priest's writing while the other half (me included) clicked with it almost instantly. like i'm curious to know what exactly displeases them about the writing, or is it just because she tends to focus on story so much -

i like to think that shen yi, as he falls in love with gu yun, would start picking up on gu yun's small habits to the point that even gu yun is like “when has he picked up on this? was he always this attentive before?”
