Fixing skew in bakes is desirable most of the time, but not all the time! In some cases where forced perspective is a thing, skew can really help.

Here's and old asset of mine where details in a hole were baked without skew correction to try and catch more light on the edges.

Subtle, but nice!

Baked asset with no skew correction around the details. The farthest edges on the holes are able to catch light well due to the edge being exaggerated. Same concept applies to forced perspective sidewalk art where glancing angles need to be skewed out to look like it has depth.

Subtle differences here, but the wider edge on the right side has greater emphasis when fully lit.
