Cheers. Will steer clear then and brace myself for the Barclays Wall-To-Wall Manchester United…sorry Premier League return.
Is this on the latest TOTD pod or an article?
I’m pleased Tuchel seems to get that. And if the players buy into that mindset, the tactical flexibility, the squad unity, no egos etc, then I think we could be on to something next summer. (7/7)
Players, especially those in forward positions, will have to accept that not starting doesn’t mean not important. Being part of a squad that wins tournaments means playing different roles at different times. You only have to look at the Lionesses’ success recently. (6/7)
Looking ahead to the World Cup… it’s going to be a very different. USA in the summer will provide hot, gruelling conditions. Managing minutes will be everything. It won’t be about our best XI players, it’ll be about our best 20 odd. If that means Foden/Palmer/Bellingham don’t start, so be it. (5/7)
The Bellingham ‘situation’ is a complete non-issue in my book. The media clearly wants a story. Something to undermine either Tuchel or Bellingham. If anything, it’s created a hunger from those within the squad and those currently not. Whether intentional or not from Tuchel, it’s worked well. (4/7)
His squad selections have balance, his communication has been spot-on and he’s not just picking players based on name or reputation. For years we’ve moaned about trying to shoehorn everyone in. Now we’ve got a manager who picks players to fit the system. We can’t have it both ways. (3/7)
A successful qualifying campaign in the bag. After a steady start, he’s got them scoring goals freely. We’ve been crying out for years for an England manager with a clear identity, someone brave enough to make big calls and Tuchel’s doing exactly that. (2/7)
🧵I know the Premier League is back this weekend, and I know some of you may not care about international football, but before all that kicks off again I just want to share a few thoughts on England and on Tuchel, who I think deserves credit for what he’s done up to now. (1/7)
The headline vs reality 🙄

Asked if he would reach out to Bellingham in the aftermath of this camp, Tuchel replied: "I guess so, why not? Of course. He is a big player, an important player.

"I will speak to a lot of the guys, and to the guys who get texts from me who are not in camp…”
Aye…confirmed for Sunday.

It’s just such an awful decision. A yellow would have sufficed, quiet word, move on. Another example of a referee lacking empathy.

Still maintain his worst mistake was thinking that shaving two lines into his hair was a good idea. Automatic dismissal if you ask me.
A quick glance at Wikipedia tells me he’s got about a 1 in 3 record for the national team. Thereby…if he just pretends Liverpool are Albania and United are Slovenia, he’s netting on Sunday. That’s how it works.
A reminder to EVERYONE involved in Sunday’s game at Anfield. Don’t you dare turn up expecting the focus to be on the footballers. There is only ONE person we should be turning our attention to…

If anyone could point me in the direction of a similar case to this occurring before or since… I’ll wait.
This Wikipedia entry on Ashley Williams is brilliant…
The image is a screenshot from Ashley Williams’ Wikipedia page detailing charity work the ex-Wales international is involved in. In the same paragraph is a sentence detailing Sir Alex Ferguson accusing Williams of attempted murder in relation to the incident when Williams kicked a ball at Robin Van Persie’s head.
Contractor meant to arrive at 9:30. Messages saying he’ll be late but will be there for 9:45. No problem. These things happen.

However he’s now standing outside on the phone chatting away.

First impressions and all that…
This is brilliant.

Good work @rickedwards1.bsky.social
For me, Liverpool weren’t THAT much better than Arsenal last season. It was Arsenal’s tendency to drop points against lesser teams that ultimately did for them. Another year on, the best defence & with proper strength in depth, I maintain it’s their title this year. Too much change at Liverpool.
Two-footed. Didn’t shit the bed. Didn’t put defenders under undue pressure. Played it long when required. Played it short when it was on. Simple. Composed. Solid start.
Goal music at Stamford Bridge 🚮
Yep. 2 in 2 now from within the width of the goal. Really impressed so far.
Sesko my MOTM. Turned many a long, hopeful ball into something. Chased and harried really well, brought others in to the game and basically conveyed a strength and a swagger that’s been missing up top. Got his goal too. Right place, right time. Good knack for a forward. Let’s hope it continues!
