The custodian came into my office during the Zoom class and I greeted her in Icelandic and she looked at me like I was totally insane. Oops.

(The person teaching the class knows about my schedule and is ok with it!)

Had to join Icelandic Zoom class late because I was teaching Tectonics lab, and I'd forgotten the stress of rushing in without knowing how class started and then immediately getting called on!

A lot of comments on Mars rovers or Moon landings, but it's important to remember that the planet NASA studies most is Earth. This is less about cutting flashy things like moonwalks and more about keeping communities in the dark on climate, weather, agriculture, pollution, natural hazards, and more.

Allow me to show you one of Katla's cutest features: her ear spots.
The black of a fluffy calico cat's head. The markings are quite symmetrical, with a big central black patch that starts at the top of her head and extends down her neck, and with triangles of orange on the top of her head on either side of the black. Her ears are mostly white, but they both have two little orange spots on them near the base.

"Will be dependent".
Or "will depend."
Oogh.

I straight-up told my parents in Virginia that whether or not I visit them in the next few years WILL be depend on the outcome of that race.

Hopefully you also took the suggestion to get the backpack at their clearance/outlet in Skeifan?

(I’m still working my way through the Hraun I brought back!)

I think that's the next step after the campus wifi.
(And contacting campus IT might be the step after that. Our department tech guy reached the limit of what his permissions allowed him to do.)

Looks like it might be related to me not having installed an OS update...but I can't install the update without the internet!
(Not even from a download of the installer on another disk...)

If it were really aware, it would know how frustrated I get when I finally have time to do research but can't actually do it!

My work computer suddenly won't connect to the internet. Great.

After eight years of competing, another few hours to verify votes was nothing, right?

Amazing first run, #Tugtupite, and better luck next year.

This is amazing: @ladwp.com, the Los Angeles utility, has launched a program that will install solar+battery systems on qualifying low-to-moderate-income households, *for free*.

Yes: free.

If you know someone eligible, tell them to apply!
Self-Generation Incentive Program
The Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) helps qualified LADWP residential customers install solar and battery storage systems by providing financial incentives. This program supports clean energy...
