happy pride! remember, you will one day dance on their graves

just in book 1 i can think of f-sharp minor, f-sharp major, g major, a major as having especially cool subjects
segatape.bsky.social
might be tired or might be Just One Of Those Things, good pitchers still get hit sometimes
segatape.bsky.social
so i think the question that's going to define whatever response there is to All The Shit That's Going On is what it would take to convince someone that the old constitutional and political order is dead and gone and that it is impossible to bring it back
segatape.bsky.social
now we get to see if there was a backup plan!
segatape.bsky.social
do we think the dems have any plans for 2026 beyond 'i hope he doesn't rig the elections too much'
segatape.bsky.social
also I really don't think a lot of americans believe that a right wing dictatorship can be a thing
segatape.bsky.social
even breaking one of the core ideological principles of postwar us politics ("we all agree on what we're trying to do, just not how to do it") is impossible for a lot of politicos to accept. there's a lot of them who just cannot believe that the GOP *actually* wants to bring back jim crow
segatape.bsky.social
it's not the only factor but I think even now a lot of americans have a sense of the american liberal-democratic political system as eternal and indestructible, and the thought that it might be permanently broken or turned into a shell surrounding a dictatorship is something they just can't believe
segatape.bsky.social
one thing to consider when comparing the incredibly feeble american response to a looming right wing dictatorship to, say, south korea or brazil, both of which took pretty forceful action, is that those countries have very recent memories of right wing dictatorship
willbunch.bsky.social
Curious...what would be the South Korea, 1 million people surround the Capitol moment for U.S.?

1) SCOTUS strikes down Voting Rights Act
2) Trump invokes Insurrection Act ahead of election, troops at blue polling places
3) A modern Kent State-style shooting
4) Something else
5) Absolutely nothing

overwhelmingly, the thing that motivates a young person to become a movement conservative is racism, specifically anti black racism. the conservative movement does care about other things, but racial animus has been the primary motivating factor for entry into the movement for decades.

we actually have group dms already on bsky it's just that we're all avoiding inviting you to ours

look it's making the world worse in every aspect but at least it's making a handful of the worst people in human history obscenely rich

the time has come to release the files about the death of general richard montgomery during the battle of quebec in 1775

bluesky does not need group DMs, group DMs are breeding grounds for madness.

Certainly! That was my mistake. I didn't realize that the target I selected was an elementary school, not a self propelled artillery piece. The next missile target I select should be correct.

everyone needs to internalize that this is just how all republicans are and when nancy pelosi said "the country needs a strong republican party" she meant that more people like this should be powerful. they are all like this! they all think just like this and like trump and they love it and it's fun

I know the temptation is to just scroll past this with a “not surprised” reaction, but you should read this if you have the emotional bandwidth to encounter horrifying slurs and violent sentiments, because there’s an important takeaway: extremism is often performed to reinforce an in-group’s bond.
