I guess we’re at the point in the campaign where pundits and consultants make excuses as to why their candidate is losing. 🧵

The switch that flipped in Seattle politics
The sight of unimaginable Big Tech wealth at the gates of American democracy shook Seattle politics. The mayor, among others, may not survive the quake.

"In a city where adding a bus lane can often take years — if it’s able to move forward at all — riders weren’t letting this one go without a fight."

Absolutely correct.

This bus lane is important as is rejecting the idea that we can just administratively take up paint.

It’s difficult to find the words to express how our unit is feeling right now, but we’ll take a stab at it: shocked, disappointed, angry, gutted. @cascadepbs.bsky.social’s choice to eliminate long-form written reporting is a massive loss for our community in a critical moment. tinyurl.com/LayoffFund

It feels like yesterday! Great, frequent transit starts with a G!

@seattletru.bsky.social was one of two community groups invited to table at the G Line Opening Day and it was, to quote the bus, very "special".

This is the kind of transit we deserve and want more of.

As someone who wears nothing but cargo shorts, a pullover, and a baseball cap: My only rebuttal is that a handmade @seattletru.bsky.social Iconic Yellow Shirt is *always* stylish.
A lot of people have been calling me the
@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social of Seattle. But where Zohran is charismatic, telegenic and stylish, I've spent my whole adult life looking pretty dumpy. To look more mayoral, I enlisted my friend Andrew Ashiofu, who took me to one of Seattle's premier boutiques.

Transit Riders Union @seattletru.bsky.social is raising alarm about Harrell’s proposed changes to Seattle’s MFTE program, calling it a bad deal. Raises everyone else’s taxes for poor affordability targets, eliminates rent increase caps, and not enough for families.

Just in case you needed evidence that Harrell’s campaign is fudging their numbers:
Quite an impressive feat to apparently create 1,000 new emergency units in the 12 days between when these two ads dropped

I am famously a very happy member and supporter of @seattletru.bsky.social and our Bus And Transit Service (BATS) committee. Yesterday, TRU BATS sent public comment to the City Council.

If you want to hang upside down and advocate for buses and trains and more of that, DM me.

Cinthia on why she's voting @yesonprop1seattle.bsky.social: "A typical campaign ten years ago had candidates sitting in their campaign office making cold calls to a rolodex of wealthy donors. Now, we see them out at farmers markets, rallies... talking to us." www.realchangenews.org/news/2025/07...

This is, like, *the* issue.

People are *going* to move here. Unless Cascadia secedes--unlikely!--we are part of internal freedom of movement in the US.

Right now, people with money win and people without (A LOT OF) money lose. Katie wants to fix this, Bruce doesn't. It's that easy.
One of the reasons Katie is running for mayor is that she wants housing to be affordable for all of our residents.

Housing costs have doubled since Bruce Harrell first took office.

Social housing is one important part of that puzzle.

Let’s talk about it!
Forgot to include on this graphic! We dual endorsed Balducci and Zahilay.
Ballots are arriving now! Here are TRU's updated endorsements for the 2025 Primary Election. Vote by August 5th!!! 🗳️🗳️🗳️

At a press conference at City Hall this morning, the Working Families Party and PROTEC17—the largest union of City of Seattle workers—endorsed Katie Wilson for mayor. The city union's endorsement is especially monumental because for most of these workers, incumbent Bruce Harrell is their boss.
