I'm discovering more & more that even when I'm not in the mood to write, that I can still do it if I just start my routine of making myself tea or coffee, putting on my favorite writing music, eating a cookie, and reading the last few sentences from my previous writing session. It works every time!

Saw the movie Good Fortune yesterday. A subplot is about service workers being replaced by robots & it was the 1st day at Alamo Drafthouse where I had to order thru an app instead of with a human server. Instead of enjoying the previews, I futzed in the dark with an app I'd never used before. Lame!

Hey #writerscommunity I spent the week down in the dumps because I read a shitty section in my WIP and my brain went into "you suck as a writer so why do you even try" mode. Thought of a good way to rewrite the shitty section this morning, so now my stupid brain is fine. The writer life is wild 🤪

It's always a trip to read something I wrote months ago for the first time. It's like revisiting a dream. Often I don't remember what I wrote although I remember some of it, the beats of the story, but not the words exactly. It's strange & surprising when I realize it's good! #writerscommunity 🤓 ✍️ 📖
