O Death, where is thy string?

Day 13 of #31DaysOfGraves - Skeleton

On the leg of a magnificent 18thC table tomb in Liberton Kirkyard, Edinburgh, is carved the figure of death as a skeleton, standing upon a skull, firing a dart at the soon-to-be-deceased while cutting the cord of a weight dangling over the unlucky person's head!

I love this, now wondering when the first joke shop opened.

Found the worst playground in England

The picture on the left gives us a rare view of a dog without its trousers on.

This is Sandy. She landed in a shelter with a dislocated hip and luxating patella after being hit by a car. Thanks to your support of our merch, @15outof10.org was able to cover her surgery and physical therapy. She has found a forever home and is healing beautifully ❤️‍🩹
a blond and white pup named Sandy looks up at us from inside a vet kennel. her left hind leg is shaved from surgery and bandages cover it and her right front leg. an empty tray of dog food is also in frame. the pup Sandy sits on top of a purple towel next to a human. the human wears protective goggles and holds a medical machine to the pup's left hind leg. the human smiles and the pup looks at the camera with alert eyes. the blond and white pup Sandy stands next to a seated person in a black shirt. both are smiling up at the camera, now family.

I think the 3rd option covers that.

I like the awful wallpaper, designs that feature gravy boats must be a real rarity.

Totally agree, and on top of everything you've mentioned holding the umbrella costs you the use of one of your hands.

Yes, 901 and 910 were my absolute favourites too. I generally seem to vote for the bears that look most like cuddly toys.

Today’s all new episode in the series:
How Much Opossum Can Fit in this House?

Where would older people be any more likely than households of other ages to only consume gas in winter? I'm not suggesting that you're wrong I just can't see a reason why this would be true.

Here in Edinburgh the bank work hasn't disappeared at all , what's changed is that the jobs that were once open to school leavers now only accept graduates.

Funny juxtaposition in the timeline

Yes, airing something simply to tell you that it's wrong can be so counterproductive.

A schoolteacher once told us to remember

'In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue'

then added it was not

'In 1493 Columbus sailed the deep blue sea'

I've had both versions stuck in my mind for decades.

GMB has given extensive coverage to the Trump/paracetamol/autism story. Guests have rightly said how wrong it is.

But after a while, I worry about the extent of this coverage, recalling the adage 'if you're explaining, you're losing'.

There's one headline: 'Trump talks bollocks on Paracetamol'.

What really struck me about this clip is how lifeless his eyes are, he looks like Davros' evil cousin.

Perhaps this is a silly question, but why would anybody want a sparrow's ghost?

My nomination for weird opening lines would be "I'll watch you crumble, like a very old wall" from Bros' 'I Owe You Nothing'. Imagine writing that and not being able to come up with anything better.

People had enormous difficulty in believing that our Old English Sheepdog was the same creature in his wooly and his shorn incarnations. I was once even told that it was an odd choice to have given 'both dogs' the same name.

If one of these articles ever claimed that now *wasn't* the right time to update your look I would be sufficiently intrigued to read it.

I was hoping to get images like this from Sky cam, a raven was flying over the house and this is the flight path it took.
#birds
A day photo from my sky camera, mounted on the house roof, showing the flight path trail a raven took as it flew over the house. The raven is seen in black as it makes a loop. The sky is a pale blue color and there are some tree tops in the bottom left corner and just a hint of a tree top nearing the center bottom of the frame.

It's hard to believe this creature isn't the work of Hieronymus Bosch.
