There’s a free application, shutup10++, that lets you disable all the shitty windows stuff with a series of checkboxes.
It even tracks if windows rolls anything back between updates and lets you reverse the changes with a click.
I can personally recommend shutup10++ if you need to stick with windows

I'm very sad to hear about Itagaki Tomonobu alleged passing. Having worked with him when Devil's Third was still aiming to be multi-platform, i have interesting memories of the man (which i won't share here of course). One of those legendary types. (Raises glass in his memory 🍸)

I've been using Rakuten, which isn't cheaper but at least isn't Amazon. Had a few orders at AliExpress and those were mostly fine.

Thought I'd give Temu a quick try just because I was bored watching the ad for it and, wow... I don' think I've ever uninstalled an app faster... All the worst aspects of Amazon combined with mobile gacha and a massive FOMO push, just toxic vomit trying to worm its way into my wallet... 🤮

SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.

Aside from genAI being a pox, it's also terrible gamedev practice. Placeholders need to be obvious so you don't accidentally leave them in. Bright pink, big letters saying "PLACEHOLDER", coder art, anything that sticks out to remind you "oh, this needs replacing!"
