This image was taken near Mount Iwo on Satsuma-Iojima Island, where the underwater aurora can be seen, says Hitomi Tsuchiya, 2025 Ocean Photographer of the Year finalist. The volcano spews out iron-rich substances not only from above ground but also from the ocean floor, creating these rich colors.
The image is a photograph of a sea turtle swimming through water with a vibrant, colorful glow. The upper part of the image is dominated by shades of yellow and orange, which transition into a luminous green towards the bottom. The turtle is a dark silhouette against this bright backdrop.
This photograph, titled "Underwater Aurora" by Hitomi Tsuchiya, was a finalist in the Fine Art category of the Ocean Photographer of the Year 2025 competition.

Taikan Yokoyama was a prominent figure in modern Japanese painting (Nihonga), who helped revitalize the art form. He developed the mōrōtai “blurred style", using soft color washes without outlines. He later became known for masterful monochrome ink paintings, particularly depictions of Mount Fuji.
The painting is titled Mountain Village after Storm by the Japanese artist Yokoyama Taikan, created in 1912.
The artwork is a nihonga painting, a style of Japanese art that uses traditional techniques and materials. It depicts a serene and misty mountain landscape, with a small village nestled among pine trees on a hillside. The artist used soft gradients and blurred ink washes, a technique known as Mōrōtai, to create a dreamlike and atmospheric scene where forms emerge from a veil of fog. The overall mood of the painting is one of tranquility and quiet harmony, capturing the calm that follows a storm.

The great thing about climbing to the treetops is your primal scream travels so much further!!

Climbing up a narrow red dirt path on the edge of steep cliff. Gigantic moss covered bedrock drops down into the forest below, treetops visible. In the distance three tall evergreen trees balancing on the clifftop. In the distance, vast & dense forests. The sky is bright blue with filtered cloud creating movement.

Kriek gebruikt veel penseel en inkt, wat resulteert in dynamische en vloeiende lijnen. De techniek doet denken aan houtsnedekunst door de krachtige, grafische aanpak.

A sense of depth created by the varying sizes and details of the trees, from large, dark trunks in the foreground to a dense, lighter background.

Léon Spilliaert is often considered a painter but he was primarily a draftsman. While a painter typically works with brushes and paint on canvas or plaster, Spilliaert employed other techniques. He used ink, pastel, watercolor, gouache and pencil, and worked almost exclusively on paper or cardboard.
The painting is titled Trees by the Belgian Symbolist artist Léon Spilliaert.
The artwork depicts a tranquil forest scene, with several tall, slender tree trunks dominating the foreground. The trees, rendered with a meticulous, textured detail, stand on a grassy forest floor. In the middle ground, a smaller, bushy tree with bare branches is visible, framed by the larger trunks. The background consists of a hazy, light-colored sky, creating a sense of depth and a tranquil, contemplative atmosphere.

With three books published, and another project in progress Michael Crouser’s work has transcended a singular subject focus and explored everything from Bullfighting to Cowboy Culture. Michael seems to have a way of making you feel for the subjects that he’s photographing in a very personal way.
