Hi! I'm Sarah. I'm a reporter/editor for MLB dot com based in Los Angeles. A lot of what I do is behind the scenes, but I fill in on Dodgers coverage from time to time/sometimes step in for visiting teams' beats in L.A. I also cover other baseball-related events.

Yes, spending money is good and all teams can and should do it.
We've been making our way through Six Feet Under, and it's really good, but it would be better if they sang "Death Happens" every episode. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jvqc...

What astonishing starting pitching from the Dodgers these past two nights.

Not sure if Blake Snell is done, but he's through 8 scoreless on 103 pitches with 10 strikeouts

Here are the Dodgers postseason scoreless starts with double-digit strikeouts:

Koufax 1965 WS G5
Koufax 1965 WS G7*
Kershaw 2020 WCG2 (8 IP, 13 K)

Max Muncy's "GIDP" fly ball (404 feet) traveled more than 40 feet farther than Freddie Freeman's home run (362 feet).

404 ft is 2nd-longest projected distance on a batted ball resulting in a double play under Statcast, reg+post

The Brewers just pulled off the most chaotic double play you'll ever see

Cal Raleigh caught 209 pitches two nights ago.
I thought a shrimp for sure.
A walk-off single was honestly WAY too normal of a way for that game to end.

At some point you just have to declare the other AL slot vacant and hold some kind of conclave, right?
Another intriguing theory emerges. bsky.app/profile/mrru...
Or maybe the Blue Jays Etsy witch is the one in control?
My current operating theory is that someone must’ve hired an Etsy witch on behalf of the Tigers and they and the Mariners’ Etsy witch are just doing dueling hexes on each other and therefore we are going to be watching this game until the heat death of the universe.
They’re doing a second seventh-inning stretch. In a winner-take-all game. Amazing.
It was going to be difficult to one-up last night's Phillies-Dodgers game, but Tigers-Mariners might just be doing it. My word.
Tom Petty’s IG (run by his estate) shared a vid of Sam Smith performing a deep cut Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers track, “It’ll All Work Out.” After the “Stay With Me”/“I Won’t Back Down” drama all those years back, I really liked seeing this. Yamamoto and Glasnow have the exact same height difference (10 inches) as @jackbaer.bsky.social and me, lol.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto (5’10”) and Tyler Glasnow (6’8”). The author (right, 5’9”) and her husband (6’7”).
Gee, no one still brings THAT one up nearly 40 years later, do they? 😬 Poor Orion.
