it's a cunning strategy to distract yourself to not think of that one room with the rocks in dracula x that leads to the clock tower because why is that the exit, it doesn't make any se- too late i'm thinking about it!!!

Yeah, I’d never played it at all before this year and I really enjoyed the challenge! I went straight to Original Mode though, haha~ I need to try the X68K version at some point

Original Mode is closer (although not 1:1) to the X68K version, Arrange Mode is retuned to be a lot easier

Since I've now beaten every classic-style Castlevania (except US CV3 and US Haunted Castle), I think I can determine my three favourites:

Castlevania (NES)
Castlevania: Rondo of Blood (PC Engine CD)
Castlevania Chronicles (Original Mode, PS1)

(Bloodlines is like a very very close 4th)

Having just finished it, I'll have to politely disagree, this game's got issues for me beyond not being Rondo of Blood!

The Key having its own Item Crash is very, very funny though, I'm glad they included that.
