(Tongue firmly in cheek! Not trying to make light of the BS in Chicago and Portland. Just... Gahhh!)

The way this game is going, we're unwittingly handing over pretense for the administration to send the troops to Seattle. Definitely shaping up to be a war zone full of disgruntled Mariners fans 😭😭

Ebooks on an actual e-reader aren't creating blue light. I've had an e-reader for 15+ years and will never go back. Length of book isn't a limitation. It's great!

They're concerned about the loss of ~10 car parking spots.

In the Fauntleroy Community Association meeting for the past hour, trying to advocate remotely (via Zoom) for a very basic pedestrian safety improvement in the form of a signalized crosswalk at Fauntleroy and Rose.

NIMBY contingent on the board seems to have won for now... Concern-trolling for cars

The former Fauntleroy Community Association president swore and shouted at Washington State Ferries personnel to defend his waterfront property view.
That pres has since died, so it's hard to call out the behavior without being accused of being insensitive. But seriously, asshole NIMBY behavior.

Ah, a pedestrian samdwich. What could go wrong?

As seen on Reddit: the life cycle of the Portland Protest Frog.
Screenshot of Reddit post made by user BartKing of life cycle of the "Portland Protest Frog": eggs, to frogs together strong, to tad-polarizing, to radicalized tadpole, to antifa froglet, to mature resistance frog.

I *finally* figured it out, got Fubo free trial, successfully watched games 1 and 2 of ALCS feeling downright smug! Then decided to try to catch some of NLCS a bit ago and was cut right back down. Ends up it's on HBO Max, which I do have, but JFC decoding this labyrinthine shit is infuriating.

Rain in Detroit delaying game 3 of the ALDS... Meanwhile, back on the #Mariners home turf it's a gorgeous fall day.

Stephen froze like a deer in the headlights and pretended to have connection issues because he unintentionally gave away the game plan.

“Plenary authority is complete, absolute power over a specific area or issue, with no significant limitations."

Show people this clip. This is an insane slip up.

Watching with envy from D1. Can @alexis4seattle.bsky.social save Curby, too?

Besides my personal feelings on this partnership, I'm concerned SPF is funneling donations to an "organization" that isn't even doing anything these days. WS Skylink hasn't interacted on any social media in well over a year, and hasn't posted to their own website blog in 3.5 years.

Who at TAS is the documented responsible/lead contact to be held accountable?

How do TAS's actions comport with SPF's prioritization of public spaces, especially when nearly all their efforts are focused on private land use?

FWIW, here's what I asked about TAS:

How much funding has SPF provided TAS in recent years (ideally broken down by fiscal year)?

What was the direction provided for use of funds provided to TAS by SPF?

What accountability measures are in place to ensure funds are used as directed?

I initially dug in on SPF's site because I've been trying to understand Tree Action Seattle's structure, strategy, and funding. They're not technically an organization, but they are sponsored by SPF. I also reached out to SPF about TAS, but found the Skylink stuff in the course of my research

Seattle Parks Foundation appears to be funding Skylink (gondola) "research." Why are they funding the people trying to stop light rail? I've reached out to SPF for more info on the nature of this partnership and how much $ has gone to these hucksters

Pedantic! Also, pedant is me.

Ah, preservationism is clearly the way.

Change is bad.
sarahchadd.bsky.social
Guess I'm happy the only positive mainstream press coverage this fabricated issue has garnered is this. Especially knowing how the Seattle Times editorial board often falls all over themselves to publish actual editorials by tree NIMBYs.

"Not counting the urbanist builder stuff" lol... Is that a touch of shade being thrown at @theurbanist.org ? Shade from old heritage trees, not gross apartment buildings.
