31 Nights of Spooky Movies #12: Prom Night!

Another cheesy slasher that feels like a progenitor to I Know What You Did Last Summer. I wouldn't say the pacing is great, but it has a good chase sequence and decently developed a characters. Plus a car explodes for no reason and it's hilarious.

This movie is interesting because you can tell there's SOME deliberate attempts at lighting and cinematography but there was not a writer anywhere near this movie.

It's cheesy as hell, but it's fun to cackle at the early 70s not-yet slasher vibes.

I lied, the spooky movie of Day 10 is the Terminator lmao. I was going to do Hocus Pocus, but the DVD player didn't work where I'm staying so I pivoted to a VHS of The Terminator.

I know Judgment Day is more popular but I just love the vibes on the OG. And Arnold being naked for the opening.

Wendy Torrence is such an underrated final girl. She's trapped miles from civilization with no way to call for help and really makes the best decisions she can under the circumstances. The staircase scene in particular is just 🤌
