This is actually a very good short and sweet summary of the sustainable transportation alternatives

"cities where you can move and breathe are much more productive”
Shame we can barely move actively due to transportation priority no. 1 (shifting and parking a lotta cars)

“Stern said the growing economies of scale of climate technology, more efficient use of resources and healthier populations – fossil fuel air pollution kills millions a year – would all boost productivity and economic growth” www.theguardian.com/environment/...
Climate investment is only growth opportunity of 21st century, says leading economist
Lord Stern says fossil-fuelled growth is futile as the damage it causes ends in economic self-destruction

Palestinian prisoners released from Israel have been greeted by huge crowds in the occupied West Bank, as a prisoner and captive exchange took place on Monday as part of the Gaza ceasefire deal.

Headlines in western media entirely focus on release of Israeli hostages. Without diminishing the significance of that, multiple times more Palestinians including children have been held without charge in well-documented appalling conditions, facing torture and abuse

Best we can hope for is a toll revamp/relaunch something like the automated camera bridge systems seen elsewhere. Pay with an app.
For sure physical tolls will not return

Surely London made a grave mistake with that congestion charge. Think of the traffic flow benefits missed

Isn't it still officially our strap line?

I get zero responses from staff to issues raised by 311 about sidewalk issues like this, other than the initial acknowledgment from 311 staff who are always great

Y'know, if your construction sign gives a specific date when the sidewalk reopens, I expect it to, well, reopen around that date. Not remain closed two weeks later. Especially when it's a well-used, shared path that passes an elementary school. (end of Leaman Dr)

Construction blocking the shares path at the end of Leaman Dr in Dartmouth. A sign says, "Sidewalk closed July 28th to September 28th."

that increased traffic pretty much starts at Liverpool and gets a bit busier still from Bridgewater. How much would it cost to twin that whole section I wonder, and what could we have instead for the same $ ? I'm used to busier non twinned highways and don't see the issue, I use that Highway loads

I'm familiar with the mess created from combining everyone together in the same space at the same time. Awful

and if yours are like ours, the LPI's are on two of four crosswalk legs only (the ones that disrupt traffic the least)

nope, and the incident stats and analysis confirm this.
