Cubic zirconia has a higher coefficient of thermal expansion than borosilicate glass, but its tolerant of being close to the flame and the 565C temp of the annealing kiln.

CZ has a similar COE to soda-lime glass, making it possible to encase stones under 3mm. But that’s a project for another day 💎

I tried to capture some photos of the process of making a pendant but in hindsight I feel like a dude showing off a cool fish 🎣
