This is what happens when you request books from the library! Place a hold or an alert on Libby! Fill out the request firm on the library website! Ask at the front desk! You and your neighborhood get cool books and authors get paid. Libraries are so dang cool.

They don't even read the whole cover. In Kentucky banners confused "Are You My Mother?" with "Are You My Mother: A Comic Drama" and "Let's Talk About It: The Teen's Guide to Sex" with "Let's Talk About It: The Sesame Street Guide to Conflict Resolution." They can't make it past the first four words.

Get some dollar store Korean crayons, they are the best, they leave American crayons in the dust. And since they come in a plastic casing that you twist to extend the nib, there's no mess and no breakage.

I know that all the talk of whether the dog from Good Boy is eligible for an Oscar is marketing-talk and I haven't seen the movie yet but I want to remind everyone that in true Air Bud fashion there's no rule that says a dog can't be Oscar-nominated. In fact, there's precedent.

Robert Towne wrote the film Greystoke, but hated the studio notes so much he refused to have his name on it, and credited it to P.H. Vazak instead. That was his dog's name. He didn't expect it to be nominated for an Oscar, so this perfect sheepdog got the nom.

The evolution of a cover!
Working with the great art director Mary Claire Cruz, we went through a lot of looks before settling on a cover for Good-Old Fashioned Korean Spirit. I was leaning spooky, but they wanted to lean into the sweetness of the story.

I had my agent working on it for a bit, but we just don't know how to make it happen.

I'm uniquely qualified, because for many of these more obscure stories, I'm the first person who's ever adapted them in 200 years. I did a series of audio dramas for Korean public radio.

I don't know why no one has done this. For multiple generations, Muppet Christmas Carol is the annual tradition that the characters are best known for.

The Dicken stories range from quite good to awful, so fresh tellings could become the definitive versions.
