I loved the first two Wario Land games, and I also really like WL4 as well. This one felt like a slap to the face I cannot overstate enough how much I hate this game.

I tried playing this again to get all the treasures and unlock more of the world (you don't even need to unlock the entire world to get to the final boss and credits), and it was just so fundamentally unfun that I wondered what was even the point of it all.

This game plays like getting your teeth pulled out. It is so overly brutal and unforgiving, and for what?

I had never before been more disappointed in a Wario game until this one.

When billionaires steal what we've written or drawn to churn out a slop-approximate of porn, they're allowed to charge for it.

If you can't handle Canon Bright, then you do not deserve Trans Bright

Not liking a character? Thinking a character is badly written? Thinking a character is annoying? Getting irritated that a character is over-exposed or over-hyped? All of these are normal. Hate? Buddy this person is not real save that hate for people who actual bad things.

I do kinda wonder if Bright would've been more forgiven if he were more conventionally attractive, yeah.

That's kind of the thing though. There's double standards where other characters who did the same shit or who did far worse than Bright get vehemently defended or otherwise easily forgiven. But Bright, despite also being a nuanced character with both good and bad, always gets the short end of it.

I try to. I even try avoiding certain fandom spaces because of that. But it is just so, so prevalent that it is really hard to ignore it entirely.
