Luckily they had plenty of pubs when I got out of the tube at Brixton!
😆 beers were cheap back then, so were a packet of fags
I´m sure you weren't the only one. I didn´t stay at the bar often beyond last bus back to oakwood as I needed to get back to south London..

Kids today won't believe if you tell them that not only was university free, but you got paid a grant to go...

All free as well. Helping people who want to help themselves.
exactly as you say! Apart from O´s & A levels, I did other lessons that were free or at the very least heavily subsidised.
Magic! I know the bar that you mean (pretty good size), I think they had started to have comic nights shortly before I left. the shuttle bus from the top of the lane into the campus & back again
having to pay for post school educations offing awful. I wouldn´t have been able to go to Poly if it hadn´t been for day & evening classes for O´s & A level lessons & exams
There´s loadsa really nice people over here. The odd rude know-it-all. Luckily I don´t need to engage with him anymore
ah, I had aleady left. played for the football team for three years! also, cos I had a grant, it was more money that I had had before..
Hope you are feeling as well as can be considering such sad news.
Trent Park was a great place to study. That mansion (that housed German POW during WWII) is now private flats?
Sorry to hear that, T. I hope you are OK. all the best to you, Russell
actually it was a GPs place; my sister was a Health Visitor all over Enfield for a while.

"House slave."
Think about this for a brief moment. Think of just how fecal and vicious a man has to use such a term in this context. This is leadership by the absolute worst of us, the most vile trash that we could scrape from the gutter and elevate to govern a nation.
I´m gonna ask her. I really liked Palmers Green station with that little caff next to it that sometimes put on acoustic gigs. Ralph Coates lived in a flat above one of the shops along the hight street bit!
I ended up living in High Barnet, I liked the vibe there much like Southgate, Enfield, Winchmore Hill, Palmers Green areas. Just a bit greener & suburban
I think she did work there, but in Enfield it was at some little place north or the town up a lovely road, might have been for maternity nurses.
