I wish my neighbor would figure out that instead of starting his vehicle & letting it idle while he goes back in his house for half an hour to do whatever, he could just start it when he was ready to leave. it's not even cold out.

rewatched POSTCARDS FROM THE EDGE ('90): Carrie Fisher's autobiopic about rehab & her frayed relationship w/her mother. witty & low-key, great cameo by Hackman. I saw it in a theater w/a friend named Christi when we were both dealing w/drug issues, decades ago. warm fuzzies (sortof). #filmsky

it's a writer thing. it'd be nice if ppl who love us could support our work the way we want them to, but it doesn't work like that. and- it can hurt relationships.

if I had to choose between having written my book or having my ex back in my life, I'd choose the latter every time.

#filmsky tried to watch Fantastic Four: First Steps. gave up at 40 minutes.

protip from an old fan: the core of the Galactus story is Alicia Masters' encounter w/the Surfer. that his heart is changed by this (non super) sensitive disabled artist is what gives that moment it's dramatic weight.

assume your audience's eyes work.
jump scares don't need to be punctuated w/loud noise.
