Lifelong insomniac: I still literally sleep like a baby. I’m often in bed at 9, winding down until sleep at 10-11. I awaken at 12, 1 and usually can’t sleep again for a couple of hours. Then I awaken again 5ish. If it’s a workday, 6:20 wake-up. It LOOKS like 9.5 hrs of sleep! But it’s really… 5,6?

I don’t get chemically depressed, per se, but I have definitely experienced that anhedonic flatness. I can only assure you it’s temporary (though, like, “much of my early 30s” doesn’t FEEL temporary). 🫂
