Happy to present you the next monthly update on @clickly.app – a visual development tool for designers and developers that allows creating native mobile apps.

Day 437:

The data toolbar refactoring is almost over. And it has already enabled the addition of some vital functionality.

Day 436:

Continue refactoring the data toolbar, which is a part of the data formula editor in @clickly.app.
I believe I'm very close to disabling AI-based autocomplete in my IDE.

Sometimes it does give great suggestions.
Kinda exactly what I want to type in. It feels magical.

But more often than not, it misguides me and even disrupts my train of thought. Frustrating.

Day 435 of building @clickly.app

Ended up refactoring some pieces of the data formula editor.

All for the sake of perfect UX for the user. And for good maintainable code for myself (which is ultimately also for the better UX)

Day 434 of building @clickly.app:

It very often feels like I'm building a giant skyscraper... brick by brick.
One more step today.

Still working on things in the data formula editor.

While working on @clickly.app, I've found that some things are reasonably easy to build.

But I can't say that about data formulas.

It takes so much time and mental effort to build it properly to achieve the desired perfection.

I love what it's becoming, though.
Data toolbar in the data formula editor is a powerful tool in @clickly.app.

It helps build complex data transformations easily.

Solopreneur or sillypreneur?
Yesterday and today were mainly spent on family time, visiting friends, and attending church service.

Last week, I realized I'm exhausted after a year of intense building.
I keep grinding, still very determined, but I'm tired and need to find a way to recover faster.
Continue improving data formulas in @clickly.app.

It's all about clean and straightforward UX.

Some improvements for the edit mode of data lists.

It will allow previewing the entire list, not only the first item as before.

I love such small though essential improvements.

Yeah, it does seem like a big library (180kb minified), but it's also tree-shakable.

Another option is to use <datalist>, but it's not supported by FF yet.
More improvements and fixes in the data formula editor in @clickly.app.

It's getting increasingly advanced and simpler to use at the same time.

It takes time, but I'm so happy to see what it's becoming.

Day 426:

When creating data formulas in @clickly.app, users can check actual values at any connection point.

It's so helpful for observability and debugging.

And, if a formula produces an incorrect result, it's very easy to find the root cause.

I applied to YC 3 times already.

Never got selected.

Once, received an encouraging email that my application is in the top 5%.

However, I'm still unsure if I want to build a VC-backed business.

Do you think I should apply again?
Day 425:

Not much progress today.
Made a regular monthly video update.
Worked on some necessary improvements in data formulas.

Little steps still matter. One step at a time makes a long way eventually.

Day 424:

Church and family day. Calm, slow and recharging day. Good one.
Day 423:

Continue working on data formulas integration with the UI.

There is still a long way to go, including adding more data nodes/functions, and ensuring the code compiler supports all of that.
Day 422:

The dots keep getting connected in @clickly.app

Now, it allows building data formulas connected to any UI component's settings. Including using HTTP API requests.

Step by step, the integration of data formulas and UI is improving steadily in @clickly.app.
