By my admittedly rough math, that would fund the U.S. military for about an hour and eighteen minutes
Trump: "By the way, a friend of mine called us the other day and he said 'I'd like to contribute any shortfall you have because of the Democrat shutdown. I'd like to contribute any shortfall you have with the military.' Today, he sent us a check for $130 million. It's gonna go the military."
I buy $8 coffees every now and again but they at least taste good
right like how about boycott Starbucks for selling a shitty overpriced product while underpaying their workers lmao, that's EASY lmfao
it's why the no kings protests, while "heartening", seem useless to me. they have no teeth, present no real threat.

unfortunately I think this country is more likely to wait for violence to "solve" the problem, and that's likely gonna take awhile
100%. and I don't think radical change is possible without a general strike. it'd be extremely difficult to pull off. but the actual percentage of the population needed to effectively topple the government is way smaller than most people realize - around 3.5%. it's not impossible, even in America!
I also think the ongoing target boycott, while more justified, could be directed towards more evil companies (meta, Uber, Amazon tho that one's complicated, Disney)
I'll say it: Starbucks! I'm not a fan, I don't think I've spent money there in the past 5 years, and their labor practices warrants boycotting. but everyone said boycott bc Palestine. despite them not being on the BDS list and not "supporting Israel" (not Palestine either, to be clear)
everyone involved in this story including the HR manager who fired me for "not being a good personality fit" was a Gemini btw

never had trouble making friends at any other job!! hell I lowkey was the personality hire at least once, possibly twice!!
stuff like how I dressed, what I ate, what I talked to them abt, and most infuriating to me, how I never did anything (I was CONSTANTLY asking for tasks, they never had work to give me bc they're not a real company)
just thought abt the "fashion" company I worked for for 1.5 months after graduating before they fired me in retaliation for...seeing slack messages left up on a screen I was asked to sit behind of my boss and coworker shit talking me, I need to slander them more
alcohol supercharges my yapping capabilities
> Europe
> nigeria

just say u hate Muslims mr mayor
Eric Adams, endorsing Cuomo: "New York can't be Europe, folks ... Those Islamic extremisms that are burning churches in Nigeria, that are destroying communities in Germany, that have taken over the logical thinkings. And that's what I'm fighting for."
and also........make sure your justifications are based in factual reality rather than vibes
I have a hot take about two recent subjects of boycotts but I'll just say ppl need to think strategically in terms of efficacy, justification, and feasibility for the average person. hit the vulnerable and/or worst of the worst companies who you can actually build a movement against.
not ONLY that (tho not not that) - also selecting who to boycott and why
Americans are embarrassingly bad at boycotts (other protests, too, but I'm thinking abt boycotts rn)
anyways moot point because mamdani is gonna win, the beating heart of NYC will make sure of it
NYC is up there among the worst of the worst wrt machine politics. we have produced some of the worst Democrats in the country. our Dem leadership is extraordinarily embarrassing. we are a cesspool of corruption.

none of these are mutually exclusive with being a vibrant multicultural city.
this is a silly and reactionary take. the poll is vile. but Cuomo winning can't take away what you can literally see with your own eyes throughout the city; it IS a vibrant, multicultural city, just one with a voter turnout and disinformation problem (not unique to us!)
can't imagine being straight. like, not being able to text my girlfriends who have husbands "hiiii ily" when I'm a lil drunk and feel like it? what's the fuckin point
