Kassidy is featured in our Cozyish Anthology and is the author of the series Sins of The Maker, the first of which, Fallen’s First, is available now!
I've literally just learned it's International Lesbian Day, so here's my book featuring murder lesbians by this lesbian author 🖤

I rarely watch anything (unless I'm stressed enough to binge aggressively mediocre thrillers). I haven't seen any of the big popular series. No, not that one. Not even that one either. No, I'm not interested in watching it.
Inspired by a post I just saw in which someone admitted they hadn’t seen a single episode of Friends nor the film Love Actually… what cultural hole do you have that’s a bit weird for your generation?

I’ll go first: I haven’t seen Dirty Dancing.
😂🫂 Yeah, I remember my Thai friends trying to teach me how to get into all these fruits. Some people make it look so easy!
Not as bad as some fruits/berries, but still tricky. There is apparently a knack to opening them, but I never bothered 🤣
I always found mangosteen more trouble than they were worth tbh 🤣, but I'm glad you enjoyed them!
Slow week for writing this week, but I did get a bit done. From one of my current side-projects:

'But Lucen’s magic was blue, and the magic Elea saw sometimes in her nightmares was green.'

We made it to Saturday, friends! Did you do any writing this last week? If you did, share a short line from your recent writing sessions. Are you happy with it? Do you already have plans to improve it?

That editing it was going to kick my arse. No, I'm not kidding, this book has been an absolute nightmare. I'm never writing one in this style again.

Happy Friday!! We made it!

Today's question is for #writers:

What's something you wish you knew about your current wip before you started?

I don't actually think any of my characters would be horror fans. They might watch it, if it was on (which it wouldn't be), but they wouldn't seek it out.

Throwing a little more light-heartedness into my current side-project.

From there, they ruled out any Healers, or those with useless gifts.
“Look at this shit. Can grow tulips.” Lucen shook his head. “What use is that? And why tulips?”

That would be a specific Healing gift. Healers in Isaia accelerate natural healing rather than magically fixing everything. Diseases would likely require a specific gift to encourage the immune system.

I failed to post for a while, but I'm still on the healing theme.
Can healers cure diseases?

For mine: generally not, but they can give the body energy, & heal damage done, which can help the body learn to fight the disease.
The problem is the healer would likely be very vulnerable,-🧵1/2
- There's this one town called Withernsea, and everyone I know agrees that a) there's nothing there, and b) driving there sucks.
- Glasgow can be rough and also people there are really difficult to understand.
- Fancy hall a few towns away also probably haunted
- Yorkshire is mostly farms and old farmer types.
- York & Beverly are generally higher end and more expensive.
- Hull is a much rougher area, home to the yobs.
- North-South divide, generally the south is considered posher and the north is more working class.
- I'm from Yorkshire, and a French lady teaching Italian once asked me how many sheep I own. The answer is none, I have 0 sheep.
- Museum in my town is probably haunted.
She was never named within the book, as she never interacted with those MCs. But then the problem was that it established she's there and working for the scientists. I did consider whether I could get away with them not knowing her name. Then I decided probably not, given what they have her doing.

Crime levels are high in Crisom, especially compared to the rest of Isaia. There's several gangs on the lower streets, one of mostly drug dealers and several others of thieving beggar children. There's also a robbery spree in progress and a history of arson.

If crime isn't something you want to calculate or give voice to, give us some unusual laws (or, to loosen it, social mores).

or do both lol

and when I came to this project I had to call her something.
The other one is Teskin, a new and minor character being used as a manipulation tactic. I'll probably change his name, since I have others similar.
