“How dare they call Reform racists!” -Reform Councillor.

*immediately infers that David Lammy is only in a job because of his ethnicity.

It's time Labour (and the Lib Dems and Greens) started hammering home the cost of private healthcare. If people saw what their monthly premiums would actually cost to cover them for all eventualities, especially 60+ with any adverse medical history, their own or family's, they'd soon wake up.

This should be a wake up call for anyone naive enough to think Reform's plans for our NHS are motivated by anything except the greed of private equity companies.

Getting a Saline Drip in the USA cost $800, and your insurance doesn't cover it.

Using an Ambulance costs $1500+$100 every minute, Insurance doesn't cover it.

Do you want Private Healthcare, really?

And in other news the female (shock, horror!) Archbish doesn't have a name, according to the Torygraph's headline, which nevertheless managed to name her husband.

Misogyny, sisters, it's still alive and kicking.

Well, this is scary.Tory anti abortionists Danny Kruger, Maria Caulfield and others jumping ship to Reform, and Moseley's great grandchildren marching through Soho last week were the advance guard.

Time to up our game, sisters.

That's all fine, but how?

That's true, but exposing those undermining our democracy at the behest of the fossil fuel industry and of Putin, whose interests it also serves, is a necessary part of that.

Indeed. I'm not a Corbyn fan, but remember his one off stint on Question Time, and Isabel Oakshott, now an immigrant in Dubai, contemptuously calling him a clown when he challenged her. I'm still shocked by that bit of gratuitous rudeness.

Approaching my 77th year I'm nearing the end of my life on our beautiful, beleaguered planet, but I found this immensely reassuring this morning. Perhaps it will recover after all when we're no longer here to destroy it with our greed and carelessness.

That's true, he's a complex character, but his determination to save Liverpool from Geoffrey Howe's policy of 'managed decline' earned him a lot of respect in that city.

After the Salisbury poisonings Farage was horrified at the idea of sanctions against Russia because 'innocent Russians would suffer'. For a man much given to commenting about British sovereignty he was surprisingly quiet about the poisoning of Litvinenko on British soil too.
rosame.bsky.social
Farage may be riding high in the polls now, but it's the performance of Reform councils that will sink him in 4 years time, along with his reluctance to come clean about his own finances. There's a lot more to come out about his Russian connections too.

Be fair, she dug up Nadine Dorries and had her on, and she's a staunch defender of all the parties hosted by Boris at No. 10
rosame.bsky.social
With hindsight it's unfair that a clip of Michael Heseltine is cut into Rowan Atkinson's excellent parody. He was always one of the better Tories, hates Farage and Brexit, not to mention the Tory party's full fat fascist iteration under Johnson.

I very much doubt whether Farage has ever done anything for free, including Brexit.

I'm due for mine + covid booster tomorrow and out of interest looked up all the jabs available on the NHS. We can now be protected from so many diseases that've been killers in my lifetime. What madness it is to refuse such blessings, while greedily stuffing ourselves with genuinely toxic fast food
rosame.bsky.social
I had a text message today about my free NHS flu and covid booster jabs. I'm also eligible for free shingles and pneumococcal vaccines, but if only we had a Vax to innoculate us against the MAGA madness across the pond.

Can we exile him and Liz Truss to a remote, inaccessible, uninhabited island somewhere very very cold? Surely if ever two people were made to torment each other it's them.
