Looking at the responses, people find it easier to imagine a world where all of a sudden nothing exists anymore than a world that just degrades.

There will be a very long period between "complex computers on wheels with remote dependencies just don't work anymore" and "can't get a car battery".

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but the CDC is being eviscerated right now. America is not going to have any kind of outbreak response capacity after tonight. Americans’ health data is no longer secure. Say goodbye to federal public health in any capacity. It’s a disaster. We won’t recover.

People filming ICE-raids: you are all trying to get up-close, and it's necessary and heroic that some people do that. But often what's missing is the static overview shot, zoomed out to show the whole street, preferably from above. Just hold still and keep filming until it's really all over.
