There’s strong support for a Scottish visa from Scottish businesses - which would mean we could recruit workers for our unique needs.

✅ 70% back a Scottish visa.
✅ Most say the Scottish Government understands their needs better than Westminster.👇

With temperatures soaring this weekend, a reminder from @dogstrust.bsky.social to keep our four-legged friends safe and well.
Katrina Murray, MP for Cumbernauld and Kirkintilloch supported this disastrous Welfare Bill from the very start - shame on her.

Labour have shown their true colours. With the limited powers of Scottish Parliament, the SNP government can step in to protect local disabled people.

🚨 New analysis: an average of 1 in 5 Labour MSPs didn’t bother to vote in Holyrood this Spring.

Meanwhile, SNP MSPs had the highest turnout of any major party - standing up for our constituents while Labour are missing in action. 💪
Last summer, ScotRail removed Bishopbriggs and Lenzie from the Edinburgh service due to driver shortages, significantly impacting local commuters.

Today, I asked Cabinet Minister to confirm if driver numbers have recovered to prevent a repeat of such timetable reductions.
This funding is fantastic news - a vital step in empowering our communities to lead the transition to a greener, fairer future.

East Dunbartonshire Climate Action Hub is a brilliant example of grassroots action in motion.

Labour’s first year in government has proven one thing - they might have changed the faces in Downing Street, but they have continued Tory austerity.

The SNP will never stand by while families suffer. We will always act to protect the most vulnerable and deliver for the people of Scotland.

The Scottish Labour Leader blames his own campaign team for his invisible candidate. People don’t want excuses, they want to hear from those vying to be their next MSP.

Sarwar doesn’t even know his own candidate’s name. Labour has given up.

Under John Swinney, the SNP has made eradicating child poverty its top priority. Scotland is the only part of the UK where child poverty is expected to fall as a direct result of SNP policies.

All we are getting from the UK Labour government on the cruel two-child cap is more empty rhetoric.

The Prime Minister’s statement on immigration today will damage our economy, the NHS, social care and our universities. It ignores the need to boost Scotland’s working age population.

This sort of divisive language only plays into Nigel Farage’s hands.

Not in Scotland’s name.

Care work is not a low skilled job. It's simply under-paid and under-recognised.

Stop this nonsense and start recognising those who look after our most vulnerable, whereever they come from.

On behalf of us sane people - thankyou to all overseas care workers

Repost if you agree!
BREAKING: “We will be closing the care worker visa for overseas recruitment” - Home Secretary Yvette Cooper

Don’t we have a desperate shortage of care workers?
Sickening rhetoric from Starmer on immigration. Straight from the Farage playbook, happy to siphon off skilled workers from abroad while blocking care workers we so desperately need. Shame on Labour. Devolve immigration now.

Scotland’s demographic challenges are distinct to the rest of the UK. We don’t need the UK government pandering to Farage, with a a one size fits all immigration policy that will damage the Scottish education and care sectors and economy more generally. www.gov.scot/publications...

Great to catch up with the wonderful Robert Smith of Group Recovery Aftercare Community Enterprise (GRACE) at Parliament today.

With Robert at its helm, GRACE, a peer-led group based in Kirkintilloch, has done wonders to help people in my constituency suffering from life trauma.

From September 1, we are scrapping peak rail fares for good.

We started making some progress in our NHS, but we must go faster.

That means making it easier to access your GP, ending the 8AM rush, and delivering more surgeries and procedures.

That’s exactly what my Programme for Government will focus on.

Today, I asked The Scottish Government how much East Dunbartonshire Council has spent on PFI contracts in the past year.

Find out what the Minister said, here.

Labour's disastrous PFI legacies and the national insurance hike attacks on jobs is placing a burden on councils throughout Scotland.

Scotland’s trade unions are central to building a fairer country.

At #STUC25 in Dundee, I made clear that we will continue working together to protect workers’ rights, advance Fair Work and demand the devolution of employment powers so that Scotland can go further.
