🚨New Paper Alert🚨

Now out in @bloodjournal.bsky.social

We scoured the ends of the earth for rare human PU.1 variants and subjected 134 of them to suite of functional assessments.
There are efforts to do so in the Amish community. Will take time. Go Birds, @phillywannabgm.bsky.social
Don’t believe everything you google. Whatever axe you have to grind with him, seems personal not substantive.
His congressional voting record overwhelmingly pro-woman and pro-civil rights. All his money is from selling books. He ranks near the bottom of all congress persons in net worth. I don’t understand your point of view. Can you elaborate?
Wha? That does not scan
Our recent work describing extreme enrichment of complement factor I deficiency in the Amish from @jacionline.bsky.social was featured on the front page of the Philadelphia Inquirer (@inquirer.com). Above the fold (and the Eagles!).

Will there be any prequels in this series?
I don’t think that is an apt analogy for medical residents. These are 25 yo+ adults who have at minimum 8 years of pre-med and medical school training. They work in supportive teams consisting of attending physicians, nurses, other residents and medical students.
Richard, no offense, but I don’t think you are interpreting this data correctly.
No worries. It is a hard career, especially in the beginning and yes it takes a toll, but if you’re in it for the right reasons it is totally worth it. Pushing yourself is part of it. Testing your metal It really helps to have a supportive family 😉. Sounds like your son does.
My experience, I was not sleep deprived. I worked 6 days a week, 10 hrs/day with one overnight. I had a bedroom for the overnight and used it. That’s how you get 10,000 hrs. of experience in 3 years. The alternative is worse doctors or longer residencies. Ask patients and doctors if either is good.
How are you so sure?
Bernie, working >80 hours a week in residency in a stressful environment is what makes great doctors. You gotta bern to shine! Now the pay, hell yeah the pay should be higher.
Agree, great review! I’m a little worried that, like Ikaros, this review has flown too close to the sun. It that good!!!!!
Another immune masterclass in @jhumimmunity.org. This journal is on a tear!
Tobin and @macattacklab.bsky.social review #InbornErrorsOfImmunity that can present with rheumatologic and #autoimmune complications and the role of genetic testing for establishing a molecular diagnosis & devising personalized treatment plans to improve patient outcomes. rupress.org/jhi/article/...
A lot of the affected are children who are not responsible for their parents’ vaccine decisions. Let’s not deny these children medical care pls.
I fear that will not be enough to keep him in Philly.☹️
