Great piece. Of course, markets are mostly just people with money trading that money with other people with money and both getting right from the transactions. No other point to most of those transactions. And certainly not much reason.

I think @vijayprashad.bsky.social understates the case. It's worse than a joke. It's a tool of the propaganda system that the West uses to make the people of the First World believe they are superior to the rest of the people in the world. But it is also a joke, and it has nothing to do with peace.

I hope/pray this very flawed ‘deal’ from Trump that Hamas & Israel agreed to ends the genocide & famine & leads to a real ceasefire.

But my biggest fear is there is nothing and no one to stop Netanyahu from resuming the genocide once they get all the hostages back and Trump has his Nobel Prize.
