What I loved most was how different each Gazetteer felt. The warrior clans of Ethengar, the magic-ruled Glantri, the merchant intrigue of Darokin, the dwarves of Rockhome; each one had flavor without losing that shared Mystara charm. #TTRPG #DnD #OSR #RPG

The Mystara Gazetteers were something special. Each book took a nation from the Known World and made it breathe, maps, politics, history, culture, even holidays. They turned the setting from a backdrop into a living world. #DnD #Mystara #OSR #RPG

Loved that ruleset..never got to play it 😔

Following up on the Mystara post, here is a short list of online resources:
-Vaults of Pandius(Pandius.com )
-Classic Mystara (classic.mystara.net )
-Mystara Player’s Guide (www.rpgmp3.com/mystara-play...)

Even now, Isle of Dread works great for new groups. Easy to adapt, full of hooks, and pure adventure energy. It’s not about saving the world, it’s about seeing what’s over the next hill. That’s the real heart of old-school play. #OSR #TTRPG #RPG

It was also the first real look into Mystara’s Known World. The mix of pulp and fantasy still holds up. Sailors whispering about lost cities, strange monsters in jungles, and ancient ruins. You didn’t just fight, you discovered. #DnD #TTRPG #Mystara #RPG

If there’s one module that defined adventure for me, it’s X1: Isle of Dread. That blue-cover map was my first real taste of exploration. A mysterious island, dinosaurs, hidden villages, and secrets beyond the horizon. #DnD #OSR #IsleOfDread #RPG

Maybe it’s nostalgia talking, but Mystara still holds a spark that newer settings sometimes miss. It’s playful without being silly, epic without taking itself too seriously. My gateway to D&D, and still one of the best. #DnD #TTRPG

What made Mystara special wasn’t just the geography ; it was the tone. You could run classic dungeon crawls one week and skyship diplomacy the next. From the Known World to the Savage Coast, it felt alive in a way few settings still do. #DnD #OSR #Mystara

Mystara was my first love in D&D settings, long before Greyhawk. I still remember those maps from the Basic and Expert sets , sprawling kingdoms, hollow world theories, and flying ships powered by magic. It was weird, colorful, and full of wonder. #DnD #TTRPG #OSR

I’ve read plenty of RPGs, but this one made me smile. It’s playful, odd, and inspiring. The kind of thing that reminds you why indie RPGs are so fun. Glad I stumbled on it.
And I hear there are few more like this, time to splurge on RPG goodness.

Reading it felt like opening a forgotten artifact. Weird tropical swamps, mutant eels, alien tech and a record spinning in the background to set the mood. The gimmick isn’t just a gimmick, it’s part of the experience. #TTRPG #ElectricMangrove

I wasn’t ready for how much joy Electric Mangrove gave me. The setting is strange and vivid, but what really blew me away was the vinyl LP format. Music on one side, GM tools on the gatefold. It’s a game you can hold, hear, and play. #TTRPG #IndieRPG

Mutants & Masterminds is another popular system. D20 system. I’ll be honest, I’m not fond of the complexity around feats and abilities. Too many choices that feel more like system mastery than storytelling. Other games do powers in simpler, cleaner ways. Sometimes less is more.

Another Superhero rpg gem is Time of Crisis for Mutants and Mastermnds from Green Ronin. Time travel, team-ups, and villains from across eras. It really captured the “event comic” vibe. Perfect reminder that superhero adventures can be just as epic as fantasy modules.

Superhero RPGs often get talked about for their rules, but the adventures deserve love too. Day of the Destroyer for Champions is a must. Dr. Destroyer threatening the world, high stakes, and a mix of combat and moral choices.

It’s like the community grabbed the blacklight and scribbled their own madness into the margins. That DIY vibe is what keeps OSR gaming alive.

Mork Borg Zines
The other thing that makes Mörk Borg shine is the zine scene. Heretic adds new classes, monsters, and strange tools. Ferretory brings tables and treasures. Solitary Defilement even lets you play solo.

It’s wild seeing how one small, stylish book became a whole family of games. Each one keeps that brutal, fast, rules-light core but gives it a new skin. Which of the Borg-born games have you tried?

One of the coolest things about Mörk Borg is how it spawned a wave of spinoffs. Pirate Borg takes the doom metal vibes to the high seas. Cy_Borg throws you into a neon apocalypse. Even Death in Space carries the same spirit in the void.

Sci-fi random adventure idea #337:

The Black Hole Pilgrimage
Religious zealots are traveling into the event horizon of a black hole, claiming enlightenment awaits. They’re right… but not in the way anyone expects.
