What a pleasure it was to host Professor Steve Furber CBE today. A thoroughly entertaining talk and an insight into some incredible projects he’s worked on.

Thank you to everyone who came along and shared the day.
For #RandomGameSaturday here is Super Sunday, which I got for Xmas in 1987 after I'd read the Zzap64 review earlier in the year. It's the only C64 game I've still got, kept it because of the unusual box.
Shiny new eBay account, first purchase: old things 😀

I had the first volume and a few extra issues back in the 80s, been regretting getting rid of them for a while.
This was my Dad's setup in the late 80s, he used to film everything! I was a bit embarrassed by it at the time but now it's nice that I still have some of these recordings to look at (converted to digital, of course)
This cycle of "I have some energy, must do all the things" followed by "I've done too much!" is exactly what @angel-mhor.bsky.social goes through. She is also currently lying on the bed surrounded by cats 😁

Here's hoping you both have enough energy for the weekend.

Stuck for gift ideas?
You can now get museum entry and gift shop vouchers in the museum shop at caveshop.co.uk

Gift shop vouchers can be redeemed online or in person when you visit the museum.

Pop it on your Christmas list! (Sorry for mentioning Christmas in October!)
I feel that the time has come for a spiritual successor to @stinkyox.bsky.social 's Hovver Bovver
For #RandomGameSaturday I present Spelunky, a game that was my main route back into PC gaming and Steam in 2014. This is a special edition PS4 version I bought later for the cool box.
There's a repair cafe in progress inside the Grand Arcade in Cambridge, right next to the Raspberry Pi shop

Not a fan of repairing tape decks. Too much mechanical stuff to go wrong. But I've learned by accident how to make these Commodore C2N decks work again and here's a video where I share my secrets!

40 years ago, Paradroid was on ZZAP!'s cover. We rated this amazing game 97%. Other top reviews: Little Computer People Discovery Kit (97%), Epyx' epic multisports sim Winter Games (94%), Wizard's Lair (89%), Hacker (87%), and Infocom's stellar Starcross text adventure (94%).

Tried to logon but it errors. Might be cool though, I'll check it out again when you have OAuth.

To highlight their "Commodore" brand, Commodore Business Machines once brought an actual ship to the waterfront for the 1983 CES show, meaning there was in fact a brief time where you could be a Commodore Commodore.

OK BlueSky network, can we do the six degrees of Kevin Bacon thing? Does anyone know Ian Livingstone or someone in similar tech/tabletop gaming/boardgame area? I've got a tech demo that I'd love to take further, or at least show to people who might 'get it'.

Reposts appreciated.
