Hi, I’m Roan! I'm a nonbinary cartoonist and storyboard artist working in tv animation. I like drawing troublemakers, rascals, monsters and all kinds of creepy-crawlies.

We set up a weekly anime night with some old friends and I’m really looking forward to it! Not to brag but I’m gonna get to watch someone experience Neon Genesis Evangelion for the first time.

The world lost a genial man, a genius communicator and a supreme artist. I lost a friend - beloved Drew.

This falls under the “everyone is 12 years old” theory: of course you see procreation like a gatcha game. You’re 12. Not happy with daughters? Yeah, boys rule girls drool. You’re 12.

This is what happens when you request books from the library! Place a hold or an alert on Libby! Fill out the request firm on the library website! Ask at the front desk! You and your neighborhood get cool books and authors get paid. Libraries are so dang cool.

I should be asleep instead of dunking on a pretty game. I’ve never made a pretty game lol. A handdrawn game is an achievement, regardless of criticism 🥃

IMO if they wanted to emulate that classic hand-drawn look: they should have considered rotoscoping their female lead just as those original productions had done instead of completely lifting animation from the source material.

There’s weight and emotion to some of the game’s scenes that are weird fits. And of course they are, they were planned by different teams decades ago for completely different stories and for specific scenes.

I think a lot of the disconnect comes from 1) a lack of tech skill/ to understand how the style functions and 2) heavily ref’ing existing disney scenes. When lifting layouts, expressions, and motions, they’re also bringing in residual details that were decided w/in the context of the original movies

A digital painting of a person standing in front of a Mississippian-style shell gorget. The gorget features an incised design of a panther, which is sharing its head with the headless human figure. The person is pale skinned, wearing a ribbon shirt and clay beads, and holding a Cherokee style pottery bowl with an incised looped design. A digital illustration done over a photo of a campfire showing an out of place, painted-looking wolf walking at the edge of the firelight, looking across the fire at the viewer. It is backed with a dull red and its breath is visible in a plume from its snout. A clay raven incense burner, with its open beak pointed up and smoke coming out of it A woodcut print in black ink depicting a coyote-headed person muzzling their own snarling decapitated head with a wire

Experiencing my first crispy crunchy autumn season in over a decade since leaving the east coast. Tonight is especially crispee cronchy 🧡 Makes me think of being a kid and having to wear sweatshirts and sweatpants under thin costumes to keep from freezing during trick-or-treat

I think that's only the case if someone's using a social media aggregate, which I haven't considered looking for since tweetdeck

Nice argument. However, I have already portrayed myself as the handsome artist Dean McCoppin and you as the cultureless old pig farmer. (Alt format for bsky viewing)

One of my favorite little details in DS9 is that Ben Sisko's Dad runs a restaurant, in a world full of replicators, in which no one has to work for money to survive. Why? Because that is what he wants to do. It's simple, but it is one of the most optimistic things about Star Trek.

I know it’s the most obvious thing in the world but it’s really sad that so many people have absolutely no desires or dreams in life except to accumulate money and our entire world is becoming a fucking pit because of it
