Hello 🦋! An intro: I’m a tissue engineer + new PI at MIT, and my lab builds neuromuscular tissues for applications in regenerative medicine + biohybrid robotics. Looking forward to sharing our lab’s journey and newest scientific stories with all of you!

The ***constructive*** nature of the feedback is my favorite part! We’ve found it a super useful tool in the lab thus far!

We are recruiting new faculty in IMES at MIT!

IMES (Institute for Medical Engineering and Science) is the MIT home of the famous HST program. As faculty are also appointed in a department at MIT, we have diverse research programs, all focused on human health.

We’re excited to report work led by postdoc Jennifer Porat in the lab, finding that DNA accumulates on the surface of living cells and that the secreted extracellular protein DNASE1L3 can modulate its levels on B and T cells. With a new twist for ATAC-seq as well www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Lead by postdoc in the lab Ruiqi Ge and in collaboration with Bob Coffey’s lab, we are happy to share rPAL-seq for rapid and sensitive sequencing based profiling of glycoRNAs @biorxivpreprint.bsky.social www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Had such a fun visit to GeorgiaTech, hosted by @gregory-sawicki.bsky.social! Always exciting to share the latest from the lab and meet other folks working at the intersection of #biomechanics + #robotics. Please enjoy my adorable souvenir courtesy of @drblackboots.bsky.social, Buzz the YellowJacket.
Love this MIT news feature of our work at the intersection of AI + bio-manufacturing, showcasing a method to make 3D bioprinting more reliable, scalable, and efficient!

I like to focus on the question “are each of the claims justified by the data” - then either the claims need to change or the data needs to be added. If the core/central claims are supported by data, then the rest of the claims can be toned down/removed rather than requiring additional experiments.
Can you please add me to the feed - I study neuromuscular biology: ramanlab.mit.edu
Honored to be selected to participate in the NAE Grainger Frontiers of Engineering meeting, alongside other scientists spanning neural engineering 🧠, quantum computing 🖥️, fusion energy⚡️ & sustainable aviation ✈️.The future of science is inspiring, as are the people shaping it!
