#coachspeak you don't rise to the occasion, you fall to your level of preparation. There are organizations that teach bystander intervention, to help you know how to step in and stop something bad from happening instead of freezing up. Same thing goes for first aid training!

To put it in coachspeak? You Play How You Practice; practicing defiance against unjust authorities in small ways prepares you to do it when shit hits the fan. Likewise, helping out folks through mutual aid on the regular means you're well positioned to do what's needed in a crisis.
