Yeah, where 3rd baseman is playing is a huge factor. If they are deep, you get multiple extra feet. Muncy was close to the bag. I still think IKF should have been as far off as Muncy, but you can't just blanket state that all those leads are starting from an "equal" place.

I just read the rule, if you didn't slide and something odd happens you can be called out. If you always slide you will never be called for violating the rule. So I think it's a risk tolerance choice for coaches.
