The result is an irreverent, hilarious, and wildly entertaining road-trip adventure. The film manages to simultaneously lampoon “listers” who seem more focused on birding as a competition than on the birds themselves, and celebrate the beauty of birds and the excitement of spotting them in the wild

Vija Celmins talked about Japanese Book (2007-10) as having a closer relationship of painting and object, but it's also v clearly a painting OF an object. (Unlike her paintings of starry skies or waves, etc., which are paintings of photographs) greg.org/archive/2025...
a vertically oriented painting of the cracked faded and unevenly worn indigo cover of a japanese book, with a slight border around it, and shadows and a bit of a crease in the corner, all giving a hint of an object in space, not just a picture of it, by vija celmins via matthew marks gallery
My Church and my Country could use a little mercy now
As they sink into a poisoned pit
That’s going to take forever to climb out

I love my Church and Country and they could use some mercy now

Thank you for speaking truth to power, Natasha. 🙏

A long time ago artist Ron Cooper started driving up jugs of mezcal from Oaxaca and sharing it with his friends. It turned into a journey into the mountains, discovering the stills of the growers and eventually, creating access to these farmers and helping them participate in the US market.
