something about Mark Twain and the greatest regret being what we didn’t do springs to mind. good luck!
tonight i am going to a nightclub for the first time in decades for an evening of alcohol and loud “alternative 80s” music. what once would have sounded so unbelievably naff to me, has now got me both intrigued and more than a little excited. hopefully the attendance will be more than yours truly
i do have some questions:
a) does work crush know he / she is work crush?
b) how would he / she feel about such an accolade, especially in front of your many followers?
c) if the answer to a) is no, why not just tell them?
d) if the answer to a) is yes, ignore c)
if Alan Partridge asked me “how are you?”, i would have say that i am clearly not doing too great. because i seem to be the only person on the planet who has found the tv series very amusing in places, and nothing more
things i learned this week (but actually already knew), part 103: Bath is a really fabulous, vibrant city. a last minute getaway on Sunday did not disappoint. in fact, i even got a decent photo of myself in the process, which must have been some fortunate mistake!

absolutely no doubt the coolest sponsored ground name. in my mind, you can never mention Cherry Red without the amazing sound of Compulsion by Joe Crow coursing through my veins. a truly brilliant (non) one hit wonder!
reminds me a little of the orange i put in the frame of my Vertigo poster, which is on the top floor of my town house. i also have a 1925 map of the London Underground on the stairs leading down to my basement (well i thought it was clever, anyway)
#NowPlaying Elliott Smith - XO (1998). i remember buying this on the strength of a single review without even hearing a note, then being amazed by the sheer brilliance of it all. and in my humble opinion - the run of songs from Waltz #2 to Bled White is as good as anything i have heard on any lp

earlier today i met an amazing lady whilst having a relaxing coffee. Valerie - we may never see each other again in this lifetime, but you were a wonderful drinking companion. 82 years young and so full of inspiration, energy, life and laughter. i wish the world was full of more people like you xxx
if you’ve never heard Beatles In Mono box set it will make you really sit up and listen. some songs are so different to the stereo versions that are now the “standard” - even though i now appreciate are massively inferior. also worth remembering The Beatles mixed in mono - stereo was an afterthought
once i got The Beatles In Mono box set, and heard the lps in a completely different way i have been slightly obsessed with mono. White Light / White Heat also packs an enormous punch in that guise!
if any evidence was needed whether i am over this wretched cold / virus / whatever it is that has been pestering me for the last 7 days… i have just taken a 45 minute walk around town and didn’t smell any weed whatsoever. so clearly at least one of my senses is still not functioning properly
i allow myself only 1 coffee a day, so you can be absolutely sure i make it count regarding quality
Trump believes he is entitled to the Nobel Peace Prize, whilst bombing Venezuelan boats. and this year’s Nobel Prize goes to…. a Venezuelan. congratulations María Corina Machado. God doesn’t work in mysterious ways, He just likes to sometimes take the piss out of assholes
