R&R has often advocated engaging in mass movements while retaining our independent socialist politics, but what does that look like in practice? R&R members Ramy K and Emma F reflect on Twin Cities DSA’s participation in “No Kings” with comrade Sam G!

They also do a ton of cover for U.S. imperialism and its history… so, not too different from the Dems after all 😅

In some sense the Russian revolutionaries carried out a “rank and file strategy”, with early intellectuals and college grads orientating to blue collar workplaces.

But this strategy was less about grads taking factory jobs, and more about recruiting organic worker leaders.
Also for context it was interestingly not the UBI from my Andrew Yang days that motivated me to become a socialist. It was engaging in voting reform but later realizing the problems of our democracy go much deeper and are much more systemic, and that capitalism is not so compatible with democracy.
Saw some people posting these so I decided to give it a try myself… what an interesting 4 years it has been. I wonder what the future will bring?

Far from their caricature as coup plotters who hated elections and democracy, the Bolsheviks used electoralism frequently, but towards revolutionary ends. Michael L explores what their work in the 4th Duma looked like and what we can learn from it today.

The R&R voting recommendation for the National Labor Commission SC is here! We believe a vote for these candidates is a vote for a partyist and principled mass politics oriented NLC! 🌹🛠️

You know who the real freeloaders in this country are? Not people who rely on SNAP, but corporations whose business model depends on wages so low that taxpayers have to feed their workers.

SNAP isn't about "people who don't work." It's about people who don't get paid enough to live.

Of the 40 or so million people who rely on food stamps:

* Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled

* Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employed—but in jobs that pay poverty wages

“The capitalist state of Argentina is failing so bad we have to bail it out while the socialist state of Venezuela won’t fail no matter how much we try to destroy it”
As Washington shuts down and safety nets vanish, Donald Trump is sending billions to rescue Argentina’s far-right government.

Argentine pensioners, driven into poverty by Javier Milei’s cuts, are in the streets demanding survival.

In the 10 days since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was announced to take effect, the Israeli military has already repeatedly violated it. Al Jazeera reports that it has continued its genocide, killing nearly 100 Palestinians and wounding over 300 people.
Through a united front tactic, specifically! We must never compromise being vocal and independent in our socialist messaging. 🌹✊

DSA supports the mass mobilizations against Donald Trump. As socialists we must be clear: defeating Trump and his administration means defeating the whole capitalist, imperialist system. Join DSA to help build the movement for a better world.

The early role played by women in the Russian Revolution shows the potential for a revolutionary socialist feminist movement uniting defensive struggles into a wider transformative social force. We can and must learn from these lessons today, writes April M.

For onlookers the person I replied to blocked me. I guess their cognitive dissonance couldn’t handle it.
Being glad a genocide is over = “fucking batshit”?

Maybe you should take some time to do some introspection.

“The most important part of this was the working class moving as an organized bloc rather than individuals voicing their opposition into the wind… If this type of movement is to be built in the United States today, we could defeat the Trump administration before the next election.” #FightOligarchy
Since being elected, Trump has taken authoritarian actions at a scale which the U.S. has not seen in a long time, culminating in a recent series of federal military occupations. R&R member Diego examines their nature and what we must do to fight back.
