I cannot remember the best compliment I have received nor any compliments at all at the moment although I am sure I’ve received my share. That says something terrible about how my high-achiever brain works, I’m sure. 😔

Btw, NOT fishing for compliments just observing how f*cked our brains can be.

-Story on right, banning race as a factor when that favors non-whites.

I often complain about NYT headlines and story-play. But these are strong. Including "If Court Guts 1965 Law."

Just bc a book contains a protagonist between 10 and 30, especially a female protagnoist, doesn't mean it's YA. Just bc the book is written by a woman (or someone you incorrectly assume is a woman), doesn't make it YA. Just bc a book is fun, written colloquially, or has romance doesn't make it YA.

Do you have a newsletter? You can have a newsletter signup and then it’s easy to use a randomizer to choose an email address. If you use IG there are random comment pickers, so you can comment and follow to enter and then pick one. You can probably do something similar on Bluesky too. Have fun!

People do this all the time. They think they’re helping but sometimes their vocabulary isn’t up to snuff and they just didn’t know the word I used 👀 or it’s a typo that needs to be directed to the editing team (not me) or I already know and can’t do a thing about it bc the book’s already published.
