That makes sense. Fwiw when I started a year and a half ago I was a complete noodle. No strength whatsoever. Took me months to get myself up onto a hoop or trapeze. Everyone was very encouraging!

In theory yes, but many times even books by big politicians don’t earn back their advances, so they end up having less than they started with.

Weird confession time: I always get mad when politicians (regardless of affiliation) publish memoirs because they get enormous advances for predictable slop that people are, at most, going to pretend to read. Publishers could be using that cash to fund dozens of authors who are actually talented. 🤷‍♀️

Book 47 of 2025: NEFANDO by @monaojedaf.bsky.social. Loved her book Jawbone, so I was excited to dive into this one about a mysterious video game—which was very good and also absolutely fucked. Fair warning! If you can handle intense brutality in horror, you should read it. 📚👀

If you like Earl Gray, you might want to give Twining’s Lady Gray a try. They made it for the Scandinavian market—it’s a little more citrus, a little less heavy. I enjoy it! And it’s easy to find at the grocery store. Also, Celestial Seasoning’s Bengal Spice is a winter favorite of mine.
