So what part of the art is the AI deriving? I'll tell you everything it's not, it's not any sort of meaning, or joy, or expression, it's not sadness, happiness, rage, grief. It's just pixels with nothing behind it.

Intention matters, AI has no intent. The pieces of art that it picks and chooses have no intent behind it, it's an algorithm choosing pixels that fall in line with it's code. When you can ask an AI why it did something and it can give you an answer beyond data then maybe we can call it art
