Single payer healthcare seems like a reasonable, sustainable, freedom enhancing (not tethered to your employer) solution to a universal need for a functioning, growing society that has basic belief in a better future for humanity. It'd prolly help, anway.

"We need our own douchebag with a tattoo" is not a winning argument.
Planes fly on pretty predictable routes.

It feels like the usual case of a tech company so fixated on what they want that it never even occurred to them to think about such possibilities.

This is the childishness that bugs me about modern startups.
I think Trump believes, regardless of the level of corruption and illegality and general grossness of it all, that in the end, worst case scenario, they'll get to keep their loot and live free.

Unfortunately, he's probably correct.

These guys aren't scared. And that's a real problem.
Funnily enough, it turns out all former Presidents and their staffs were actually at least minimally competent, responsible shepards of the Executive branch of these United States.

I know, I'm also surprised. It takes a special kind of spiteful b@#$% to make one realize how good we had it.
How can anyone have confidence in markets under these conditions?
Not simply fascism. Monarchism.
When I need a good cry.
Unceremoniously sending in excavators to tear down a big chunk of The White House really sticks in my craw.

I think it's one of those things that actually sticks with people.

Friendly reminder:

In just three weeks, Donald Trump's sons and family raked in $1.3 billion from a crypto company that only opened when Trump took office.

Democrats must say no to Trump’s get rich quick schemes.

The same people who lost their minds over Obama putting his feet on the Oval Office desk are totally fine with Trump bulldozing the White House.
Someone signed one of my emails up to "Christian Leaders Update" and hoo boy is it wild.

End times, prophecy is now, support Israel (as vehicle for armageddon), and today was "pledge" to stand for their new saint, Charlie Kirk. They're making him out to be a pure champion of Christian values.

Scam incoming.

What are the odds that a foundation is dug and poured but that's it, nothing else?
Trump raises the price of the ballroom to $350 million

(It changed from $200 million, then $300 million, now $350 million within the course of a few days)
I'll never understand the cult of belief that Republicans are better at money. They're better at waste, fraud, and abuse.

Republicans always break the economy and explode expenditures.
Total federal spending is up +7% in 2025 over 2024 year-to-date to Oct 20.

The story that the fed govt is tightening its belt is contradicted by its own real-time expenditure data. Admin spectacularly hammering some things but raising spending elsewhere.

Was -7% just after Inauguration Day.
Bernie, I love ya, but there's 100 US Senate seats. Let's find a better person.

There's a whole group of problematic things with this guy on multiple fronts. He can live it all down, but this stuff wasn't some distant past. It was up to pretty recently. Senate terms are 6 years.
I feel like I read about this in a book about Stalin. Or was it Hitler? Or Putin?

Idk. They all blur together.

Today in history, 1975: Air Force Sergeant Leonard Matlovich is administratively discharged after publicly declaring his homosexuality. He had outed himself via a letter to his commanding officer and appeared on the cover of Time Magazine with the headline, β€œI Am a Homosexual.” /1
So the millions upon millions in salaries aren't good enough?
Statement from the Blazers.
This just reminded me of like 6 people that I hate on this basis alone.
*fewer

And they're right.
In the article the long-long ago he's excusing as 'in the past' was like 5 years ago.

Senate terms are 6 years.

Who's to say in 5 years he doesn't have a new "today I find that stuff abhorrent" about his current allyship and policies?

We've seen this movie: Fetterman (2022).
Everything they do is so tacky.
