Well, it's time to get some work done. Social media can take all day, someone is always awake, ready to chat. It's getting colder, and the window of opportunity to complete outside tasks is running out. I can spend all day inside on winter days.. L8R

Thanks, I was born into the military. My father, and his father served and my mother signed up for a time. Seemed pretty natural for me by the time I joined. I'm retired now

We had Air Cadets at age 13, but I got in the band at 12. Played the marching music, took it again in school, we were the band that played Pomp & Circumstance at my sister's graduation. I had the 1st trumpet part. I have a recording of it too. Then I joined the Navy, & in bootcamp, band was special

#HalifaxWater won't send me a bill. They send me overdue notices, & when I ask for my paper bill, they demand $12 to get it. They affect my credit status with overdue accounts. The #NSUARB & #Halifax Councilors on the board, allow that to happen without recourse. I don't know my water consumption

I do this on vacation too. When we drove to Arkansas, except the days we were pushing through, I'd sneak out in the dark and let my wife sleep and find a place (preferably over water) to take photos at sunrise. Then go back to the RV and stitch them into movies like this.

You are right, and I struggle to find old orchards, hoping to graft a lost variety onto a new tree. We lost my favorite apple, KINGS, in the 60s here. There's one in Maine that is similar.

I'm the same way. It's because it's a cash cow. I was working with an apple farmer to get tips on grafting and asked about that. He had just had one type of apple that was popular, Honeycrisps, which was already being replaced with Pink Lady.
My own apple trees have good tasting apples. One like PL

I have 4 terabytes. FULL. And backup the same, full. I'm using a laptop hard drive for photos now. It took 4 trips to bring my non-DJ CDs (out of cases) to the house. I have no room for that kind of storage. It's curbside on Saturday.. they will be gone by next week. But I have to take pictures off

It started getting good about here, and then fizzled out 20 min before the sun went over the horizon @slimdude.ca
I've got a bigger memory card in my Digital Camera, than space left on my PC drive. I've got some serious choices to make.

My father was just reaching 58, and his mother 52, I believe. I thought that would be my target range so I retired at 50.

With the digital camera on the tripod, I do speed shots to stitch together. The sunrise recently didn't work out, 55 shots to see the sun break the horizon in red, but it was too bright.

That's why I retired young. My father didn't live long after retiring and I forget the stats now, but some Navy trades averaged 13 pension cheques for retirees. After a lifetime, just 13 years of pension? I'm breaking records in my family history.
And getting my full pension.

Inland maybe. I was out for my WNB in the dark at 5, went out on the deck and it was very still, and felt mild. Soon as the sun rose, it sucked the heat off and it dropped a few degrees and wind off the water is keeping me indoors for another hour

It's cloudy here, the sun couldn't break through the clouds but the bounce off the bottom before sunrise was very pink. What you see, is just my phone, a quick snap so I can share and say Good morning sometimes. But the digital is on a tripod and I take a shot every 1-5 min, it gets all the changes

It's possible I never heard it before. There's plenty of these games that have artists I've never heard of, or all the top hits of that group or artist were different in the UK than America

It was really brief, and the water was disturbed. You still see a slight pink top but it's mostly dark below when the sky lights up. It's just so late now, I feel like I wasted a whole morning waiting for it.

And my subordinate, but a buddy too, asked if he could leave his uniforms in my mess (senior mess) while painting was going on. He went west and forgot them. He said, if I don't come back east, keep my work dress. I was his pallbearer when he came back. This is too common in my day.

It was sad, I remember them all. Not just because I have all their shirts, but because I knew them all very well. Dave lived alone onboard for his last year (like I did in Ottawa) so not to displace his family where he wanted to retire. And he probably never saw his first pension cheque. 9 weeks
