To be honest, all your gardening adventures this year have reminded me of him. He was a miner for most of his life, retired with lung issues, got a night watchman job in a mill. But he had a nice council house with gardens and he grew things. All kinds of things. My cousin takes after him.
I remember my granddad building something in his back garden. He told me it was a playhouse for me, the old sod. Turned out to be a greenhouse. He told my grandma it was for tomatoes. Turned out to be for crysanths :p He was definitely a man with a hobby.
Aw, my granddad loved 'em. I remember him going through the catalogues every year to decide which ones he was going to grow. My grandma loved 'em too, she always had the cut flowers in the living room.
I'm taking the #Werewolves back to the seaside this weekend. Come and say hi and buy some books!

It's back to #Lancashire #libraries this week, with a trip to the lovely #Padiham library as part of their #Halloween celebrations.

I've had a few projects postponed this month so I have availability for book cover and character art commissions.

* Illustrated or photo-based covers

* Sci-fi, fantasy, and horror character art

All reposts very much appreciated as I am hoping I can fill these gaps in my schedule this month.
Many, many calming cuppas needing during and after.
It says something when my reaction to a four hour wait is 'Wow, that's quick.' I'm glad she's OK.
I hope that you manage to sleep and wake up feeling better.
A moment of perfect peace at Fairhaven Lake last weekend, when the mists came down.
Did I mention that I won the Lancashire Authors Association Pomfret Cup earlier this year. It's a #poetry prize, so I'm now a prize winning poet! Here I am with the LAA President, Sid Calderbank. Olive and Judith in the background. #BookSky

In light of the recent book artist AI controversy, it seems appropriate to restate that I do not use generative AI.

All of my contracts include a clause confirming no generative AI is used.

I also have a page on my website detailing my views on generative AI: www.jonstubbington.com/generative-ai/
Another busy weekend - I'm back at Fairhaven Lake craft fair this Sat and Sun for the last weekend of September.

Free entry, dogs welcome!

Many thanks to Helen and Wendy from the library Friends group for organising the event and giving me such a warm welcome and great introduction. Thank you to everyone who came along for the talk.
From my August book blog.

" I’m a sf / fantasy / horror reader. Crime isn’t my genre, although I’ll dip into it now and again. The big exception to this has always been Brookmyre, because he’s funny and clever and I like his references."

My last Lancashire libraries visit of the month is Lancaster Library tomorrow, Thu 25th Sept, from 12:30 pm. I don't often get the chance to visit Lancaster, I hope to see you there. #BookSky
Thank you to the library staff for their hospitality and the audience for travelling from Cleveleys by bus.
More from my August book blog. Usually, if I don't say much about a book, I either didn't like it or I was absolutely overwhelmed by it.
