Last year my 11 y/o wanted to be a bookshelf for Halloween. And so, we made a bookshelf costume. It turned out pretty great.

oh for sure. Expunging trumpism via shaming would constitute a best case scenario imo. it’s been effective at getting through to family members when patience, logic and reason couldn’t. But I’m also clear eyed that it might be inadequate on a mass scale.

And not that it’s much comfort but fwiw, I think it’s only about 1/3 living in an alternate reality

And I believe the above is very realistic once the momentum of public sentiment reaches a boiling point and overwhelmingly shifts against trumpism

I’ve given a lot of thought to this too (bc of all my maga family members). And I think the short answer is shaming. Banish their ideology from polite society and make them feel embarrassed to have ever been associated with maga.

It’s also the same reason the inverse (tax breaks for the wealthy and trickle down economics) literally does not work. The wealthy don’t spend money, they hoard it.
