It’s all about you
Talked about this with a friend this morning

I wake up heavy
One of our country's greatest war criminals just died, the president is arguing with himself about whether or not to let 40 million people starve, and there is an actual courtroom drama about a five dollar footlong.

How are any of us supposed to maintain emotional regulation.
Imagine John Wayne.

He’s an alpha male. A lion, not a sheep. The iceberg lettuce nearly penetrated his Punisher patch, putting his life in grave danger. Thoughts and prayers.
Border Patrol agent Lairmore testifies that he was not injured by the sandwich, but he felt the impact through his ballistic vest.

The sandwich came apart and "kind of exploded" on his chest upon impact, he says.

"I could smell the onions and mustard."
I would so embarrassed if I were him.
It’s just embarrassing
The officer Sandwich Guy is charged with assaulting testifies that he could feel the impact of the sandwich through his ballistic vest, and it “exploded all over my uniform.” He says he could “smell the onions and the mustard.”
Another great haircut
Knife fights still free

It's not in this article but the government asserts that the sandwich was thrown at "point blank range", which implies subway sandwiches have defined effective weapon ranges of varying lethality, and I would like to see the government's chart of these ranges.

In a way, I find the authoritarian takeover of our media system even more disturbing than the authoritarian takeover of our political system.

Our political system has been failing basically my entire adult life. But, the media system provided accountability and sort of worked. Now it’s collapsing.

Can’t even trust newspapers
As was I but it has gotten so much worse. There used to be a limit on commercials. That has disappeared.

The amount of actual show in 30 minutes has mightily decreased since the 70s
As a person who doesn’t watch tv much, except sports, then usually premier league football, the American ability to sit through ads astounds me.

I kept hitting the mute button during the World Series. The ads are astoundingly annoying
So there’s a show on Prime that I’ve been working through slowly over a few months. Yesterday, there seemed to be 3x as many commercials as the last time I watched. Is this a thing?
