There's no head 😅. I have contact info for one board member, but like a school that has uniforms I think they will just not think anything is relevant. This school is fully democratic with students voting on retaining staff, for instance.

I was raised to be opposed to reassurance. So I need it but can't get it. But it is vaguely reassuring when nobody has more useful advice. I used to assume answers were out there but that was years ago.

So I'm just sitting here aware. Aware!! Of how the school could be better but isn't. Of the good and the bad happening at other schools. Of how much attention I needed and didn't get and how much attention I'm sure my kid needs but doesn't know how to ask for and high-key doesn't want.

But like he's in school now. I kept him out until last year. Finally found a school that agreed with our values. EXCEPT??? they completely do not understand neurodivergence. So he's not being exposed to normal stuff, on purpose, but I think his school is not holding up their end of the bargain.

I'm scared for how we both lose time all the time. But not bc he currently has any deadlines. I'm just i guess having a bit of panic.

I guess I seek a magic that allows us to discuss if he has goals and how we can assess progress but without him feeling judged or criticized. Maybe this isn't an ADHD thing at all. But I guess if he didn't have ADHD I would be less worried about his time.

He is completely free and I'm fine with that except that there's no oversight.

I guess it's like most of the world is judgmental and cruel and time obsessed and I have shielded him from that but... shouldn't I also be preparing him? But I can't liberatorily prepare someone for oppression.
