I used to be a secretary, a full time job to be a reminder & organiser, now that job doesn't exists. As a parent I find it so frustrating how kids have to do it all themselves now. They are so overwhelmed.

I'm sure this has been written about somewhere, but as a parent I am struck by how much greater my high school kid's executive function is expected to be versus what was expected of me - and it's entirely because all his work is online. He has to not only do the work but submit... 1/8

Do you have a VPN on your laptop? I found I couldn't connect to the internet when I did on mine. I have to reinstall every time I want to use it. Doesn't matter if its activated or not.

We've had a 5 hour power cut here. Pain in the bum. I was 'forced' to read instead. 😁 I'm proofing a new book from @jackrollins.bsky.social which is a rather good horror - thoroughly enjoying. And also reading through the 1st volume of the new #SummerRealm series I've written with 3 other authors.

They claim they needed to have a single document to show how my name changed from my birth name to my current name, but there isn't one, there's multiple & I provided them all with a covering letter. Someone hasn't read it.

The thing that annoys me is I sent all of this earlier this year for youngest's passport and they accepted it. I'll be writing a letter to them when I get home. Maybe a colour photocopy of my british passport too.

I've already had to send my passport to tmy pemsion company to prove who I to be able to receive my pension overseas. But I've not claimed it yet - though it's a personal pension. I contracted out of serps before I moved overseas.

Honestly! Whoever works in the passport office on the UK is clearly unable to read! I sent them all the documents that show how my name changed from my birth name, to stepfathers surname, to another that became my maidenname, & my marriage certifcate to my married name. 1/2
