I got this in my head after seeing a fic by Pichupal, so any blame, please direct to them (I don't know them and they probably don't know me)
It's a self indulgent romance starter, so sue me. also, not sure I can write Runar right. aaanyways, as usual, I seem to have a habit of making my romances start by light bullying.

Notes:
This is after the Rak'tika Falls Dungeon at level 75, so Mid to Late Shadowbringer content. Mention of characters, but I think I got nothing of the plot in it. still, beware.

Day 17 - Unleash

A conversation. Perhaps a bit one-sided, but good villains do love gloating.

Vlad lets a lot pass him by, unaffected, unbothered. But the seven hells have no fury as that of an Adventurer whose loved ones have been threatened.

That's a step too far.

Emet-Selch stands over a tied down Vlad, Vlad is leering at him, baring his fangs, but remaining quiet. Emet-Selch is gloating, as is usual of him.
"Now what were you thinking, in that little head of yours? Wanted to be a Savior?"
"And that got you, absolutely nowhere, huh? Still, you got pretty far on your own."

Emet-selch walks away, turning his back to Vlad
"Perhaps I should reward you. A visit to that dainty little forest with all the fanatics, watch as I end them all"
Vlad's head lowers, and he murmurs "Fuck you."
Emet-Selch, still facing away, keeps talking, not noticing Vlad undid his binds, "Debasing yourself when captured won't do much, I fear."

Vlad slams his katana to the ground, and waves of dark aether expand from it.
"Check again, you ancient bitch."
Emet-Selch doesn't turn around, and says nothing, still looking ahead, and a close up of Vlad shows his sword raised, with a determined expression on his face.
"And threaten my loved ones to my face. Careful. I fucking bite." he threatens."

Day 16 - Glitch

Sometimes a nightmare.

Sometimes an intrusive thought.

Perhaps a warning, or an echo of an awful "could have been"

Never angry, but clearly worried. Who could that be?

Day 15 - Fragments

Vlad visits the first, on ocassion, to chat with Runar, maybe give him a hand if he's needed. Of course, there are no secrets between them, and while they might not have all details, one can't help but wonder, some times, about their shards.

Runar and vlad are in Slitherbough, Vlad is tending to the field, and a gigantic cabbage in front of him.
Runar is making conversation:
"Hey, as always, thanks for the help, Vlad. It's really appreciated."
"Nolw that you're here, I remembered what you said about the reflections, and can't help but wonder..."

Different fragments of vlad are shown, as is Vlad in the last frame, flying on a Cloud mallow.
One reflection is a Roegadyn Dragoon, in a world almost swallowed by light, petting a blue chocobo.

We come back to slitherbough, where vlad is finishing tending to the field.
"Me and my shards?" he asks, and stands up, cleaning his hands, looking towards Runar, "Nah. I'm sure they're all fine. I'd like to see what shenanigans we can get to, if we meet"

Day 14 - Arena

Trying to grow in pugilist, and getting closer to Raubahn, Vlad had a very characteristic bad idea.

It took a week to recover and stop the pain of this beat down.

Day 11 - Frontier

Travel can be a tad boring when it takes weeks to get from A to B. Vlad getting bored is a bit... dangerous.

He will never admit it, but his sense of adventure is becoming more and more like Meteor’s

The pot steams and sparkles with a blue light as Demetrius watches intently (and with minor concern of messing up) while Conna stands by his side, arms crossed.

Hildibrand (white Highlander with well coiffed, brown hair) walks up excited by the smell, asking if he can taste test.

Her stellar white eyes trained on the pot, Conna tells him he can taste if his intent is to *die*. Demetrius apologizes, because they're creating a skin balm; the herbs required to create it are poisonous when consumed. So, no; Hildy can't taste test.

Dejected, Hildibrand pouts and asks "why does it smells so tasty if it can't be eaten?"

Without even looking at him, Conna demands softly yet firmly that he leave.

In Endwalker.... I haven't written about it, but I do have an idea about it, considering he wasn't in the best of terms by the end of Shadowbringers, and wanted, mostly, to keep them from trying to pull another stunt on Meteor.

There were a lot of times he tried to convince him to leave the Scions-

but he did get an earful. from both. on different days.

For Shadowbringers, he was dragged along with the other scions, and before Alisaie and Meteor, so he didn't have much choice about it to be fair. He did practice his Dark knight, as stark contrast to Meteor's light, to keep him grounded.

had met Musosai and got an interest in the training for Samurai, which led him to ask for time to go to Kugane, growing stronger, as his mother gave him a rotund NO to getting between Ala Mhigo and the empire, being refugees.

They didn't say anything about liberating Doma (and later helping Bozja)-

along with Alphinaud (finally growing to like the smug lordling) and Meteor (trying to keep him from falling into depression and guilt) while dealing with the "death" of Raubahn.

Stormblood was mere coincidence, and he didn't get involved on the Ala Mhigan part of the conflict.

ARR is mostly Vlad being "Hired" for the Scions as he does have the Echo, and while Meteor is becoming a hero, he's being technically dragged along, since they both know each other, and are both new to the organization.

Heavensward is easy, since the Scions were marked as criminals, so he tagged---

Vlad is not the WoL, that is Meteor. On ocassion, it's just a coincidence that they're in the same place, and at the start, Vlad was just annoyed into action by a VERY eager Meteor.

Day 10 - Resonance

It needs a lot of Aether. It needs intention. It needs them to sync down to their very souls. But the very few times it happens, it is a limit break to break all limits.

Day 8 - Guard

Vlad isn't much of a tank often. when the need arises, he will do so, and yet, regardless of his role, he always aims to protect those in his charge.

A guard merely needs to protect. So much, and so little, and yet, he shall do so to his utmost.

A different tale, where aether is not at odds, and is manageable. An ascended form, and a burst of power.

How would Emet-Selch react to another using the light as he was? one can only ponder.

Vlad, with his arms extended, raises his left to the skies, and proclaims:
"As light overflows, we shall devour it!"

Esteem, behind Vlad, in his phantom appearance, casts a spell over himself, complimenting Vlad's casting.

"Using darkness to keep the balance and our sanity!"

Angel wings burst out from their body, a white robe with red highlights adorning them. Their former armor is gone, and the hands and feet are uncovered. A light core floats in their chest, representing their souls keeping the corruption at bay. Both, fused, complete their phrase:

"Dark aspected Light infusion! Forgiven and Grounded!"

Day 6 - twilight

Light and dark tend to be at odds, and yet, in twilight times they do cross and mix, forming an entirely new tapestry.

A chance encounter, an accident in the making, and the start of a wonderful adventure.

Day 4 - Twins & Day 5 - Soul

Vlad is an only child. with no brothers or sisters, but Esteem is... as close as he might get, considering they are basically the same person from different timelines.

They do learn to live with and annoy each other... as good brothers do
